CHAPTER 22

BLYTHE and Ezralyn were having their lunch at the canteen when a group of boys approached them. It’s Dean’s group.

“Hi,” nakangiting bati ni Dean kay Ezralyn at sa kasama nitong magandang babae. This woman is not a werewolf, but she isn’t a human either. So, he was curious about her. At nagpaalaman niyang Blythe ang pangalan nito. He did an investigation, but he found nothing about her. So, he was interested in Blythe Davis.

“Ikaw na naman. Ano ba ang kailangan mo?” Inis na tanong ni Ezralyn habang si Blythe naman ay tahimik lang na kumakain.

“Wala akong kailangan sa ‘yo pero kay Blythe meron.” Sabi ni Dean at tumingin kay Blythe. “Hi,” he greeted her but he was ignored.

Inasar naman ng mga ka-grupo ni Dean si Dean.

“Burn.”

“Ashes.”

“Shut up!” Dean hissed to his group. Agad namang tumahimik ang mga ito.

Dean went to sit beside Blythe. “Hey, beautiful,” he said, but Blythe still ignored him, “I’m Dean Travis.” He introduced himself, but Blythe continued ignoring him, which made him pissed. “I’m talking to you!” Hinawakan niya ang braso ni Blythe.

Napangiwi si Blythe dahil naramdaman niya ang sakit ng paghawak ng lalaking basta na lang tumabi sa kaniya sa braso niya. “Let go.” Malamig niyang saad.

“Dean Travis, let go of Her Highness!” Ezralyn growled.

“Hawakan niyo siya!” Utos ni Dean sa mga kasama.

But before they could get hold of Ezralyn, she quickly moved and dodged Dean’s group. “Dean Travis, I’m warning you. You had better let go of Blythe – “

Nakuha na nila ang atensiyon ng mga estudyante sa canteen at nasa kanila na ang atensiyon ng mga ito.

“Let go of her? No, she kept on ignoring me. Sino ba siya sa akala niya?” Dean looked.

“Blythe is Alpha King Lawrence’s mate. Disrespecting her is the same as disrespecting His Majesty,” Ezralyn’s voice boomed the whole place.

Natawa si Dean sa sinabi ni Ezralyn. “The Alpha King’s mate? Really? Ezralyn, alam nating lahat na hindi pa nahahanap ng Alpha King ang mate niya. I know that you are the Gamma’s sister and your brother ranks above all Gamma’s in the entire world. Your family has been serving the Crown for generations. Pero mukha yatang inaabuso mo ang impluwensiya na mayroon ang pamilya mo? You are also using the Alpha King’s name.”

Kumuyom ang kamay ni Ezralyn at balak na lapitan si Blythe pero inilayo ito ni Dean habang hawak pa rin nito ang braso ni Blythe.

Nag-aalala si Ezralyn. “Your Highness…”

But Blythe gave her a look. Don’t-worry-about-me-look.

Ezralyn was worried but she trusts Her Highness. Alam niyang kaya nitong protektahan ang sarili nito.

“Let go of me.” Malamig na saad ni Blythe kay Dean. “Kapag hindi mo ako binitawan, mababali ang kamay mo.” Banta niya.

Pero tumawa lang si Dean. “Really?” Hindi siya naniniwala. “You’re just a girl and I really admire you. Do you want to become my woman?” He said with a husky voice and touched Blythe’s face.

Blythe was disgusted by Dean’s touch and she snapped. Pumasok agad sa isipan niya si Lawrence. Though I stayed in Lawrence's room, he never touched me inappropriately. And this man… Tumalim ang tingin niya sa lalaking nakahawak sa braso niya.

Blythe gripped Dean’s arm, she could feel her inner strength running in her veins, and then with the help of her inner strength, she broke the man’s arm.

Dean screamed in pain, and he kneeled on the floor while holding his arm that was broken by Blythe.

Narinig ng lahat ang pagkakabali ng braso ni Dean.

Napasinghap at nagulat ang lahat dahil sa ginawa ni Blythe.

“This will be a big trouble.”

“Moon Goddess, she offended the Alpha’s son.”

Ilan lamang ‘yan sa mga naririnig ni Blythe mula sa mga estudyanteng nanonood sa kanila pero sa mga oras na ‘yon wala siyang awang naramdaman. For Blythe, Dean deserved his broken arm by touching her.

Blythe looked at Ezralyn. Nakatutop si Ezralyn sa sariling bibig. This is a big trouble.

BLYTHE was brought to the College Counselor, and she was questioned about the incident.

“He touched me.” Walang emosyong saad ni Blythe. “And I don’t want to be touched by another man. He even told me to be his woman. Madam, hindi ko ‘yon kinayang pakinggan kaya naman binali ko ang braso niya.”

The College Counselor could only sigh. “Mr. Travis's broken arm is now being treated. Matatagalan ‘yon bago gumaling.” Tumaas ang sulok ng labi ni Blythe. “Ms. Davis, call your guardian to pacify Mr. Travis’ family.”

“Okay,” tugon ni Blythe pero wala siyang balak sabihin kay Lawrence ang nangyari pero hindi ‘yon posibleng mangyari dahil nalaman na ni Ezra ang nangyari.

“Your Highness, I’m worried.” Nag-aalalang sabi ni Ezralyn.

Blythe sighed. “I’m worried too. Lawrence might scold me. I caused him trouble again.”

Napailing naman si Ezra na nakikinig. “Your Highness, dapat magpasalamat pa ang gagong ‘yon na ganun lang ang nangyari sa kaniya. Nabali lang ang braso niya. Kung si King Lawrence ang gagalaw, baka patay na siya ngayon.” Aniya.

Ezralyn sighed. “But, Kuya, this is a big trouble for Her Highness. Kapag nalaman ‘to ng mga Elders, they will surely abide by the laws of werewolves. Alam mo naman na may isang Elder ang galing sa pamilya ng mga Travis.” She looked at Blythe. “You will be punished by harming the Alpha’s son. It’s the law.”

Blythe shrugged nonchalantly. “I will accept the consequences of what I did. Pero hindi ibig sabihin no’n ay makakatakas na si Dean Travis sa ginawa. If I am punished, he should be punished too.”

Si Ezra naman ngayon ang napabuntong hininga. “But it will be hard to speak to the Council if they interfere.” Aniya.

So, when they arrived at the palace, Ezra immediately informed the Alpha King.

‘Your Majesty, Her Highness is in trouble,’ Ezra informed the Alpha King.

Napatigil si Lawrence sa ginagawa nang marinig si Ezra sa pack link. ‘What happened?’ Lawrence asked, worried about his mate.

Ezra just sighed as he responded to the Alpha King. ‘Her Highness said that she would be the one who will tell you what happened.’

Before Lawrence could stand from his seat to go personally see his mate, the door opened, revealing his mate, face down and seeming nervous. Blythe was playing with her fingers. At gawain nito iyon kapag kinakabahan ito.

What happened? Lawrence asked himself.

“Cade, give us a moment.” Sabi ni Lawrence kay Cade na kasama niya sa loob ng kaniyang pribadong opisina sa palasyo.

Cade closed the folder he was reading and bowed his head to the Alpha King. He walked towards the door and bowed to the Queen.

“Come in, baby.” Tawag ni Lawrence kay Blythe.

Nakayukong pumasok si Blythe sa loob ng opisina ni Lawrence.

Cade closed the door and stood outside.

Ezra was also outside the Alpha King’s office.

“What happened?” Cade asked the Gamma.

“I can’t say if this is trouble or not. Her Highness only protected herself.” Tugon naman ni Ezra.

“What do you mean?” Nagtatakang tanong ni Cade.

Napabuga ng hangin si Ezra. “Her Highness broke the arm of the Young Master of Nightfall Pack.”

NAPAAWANG ang labi ni Lawrence pagkatapos marinig mula kay Blythe na may nasaktan ito.

Blythe sobbed. “Hindi ko naman sinasadya. He humiliated me in front of many students. I couldn’t take it, so I broke his arm. Hinawakan niya rin ako.” Nakayukong saad niya. “I’m sorry that I caused you trouble.” Umiiyak niyang saad.

Lawrence doesn’t mind that his mate has broken someone’s arm. If she breaks someone’s arm, then she’s capable of protecting herself, and he won’t be too much worried if she’s alone. But what’s bothering him is that his mate was crying in front of him. Ito ang unang beses na nakita niyang umiyak si Blythe at hindi niya ito kaya na makitang umiiyak. Seeing her tears flow from her eyes is like he is seeing waterfalls.

Tumayo si Lawrence saka nilapitan ang mate niya. Niyakap niya. He comforted her while caressing the back of her head. “It’s okay. I’m here. Stop crying, baby.”

Blythe sobbed. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize.” Sabi ni Lawrence. Pinakawalan niya ng yakap si Blythe pero hindi niya binigyan ng distansiya ang katawan nilang dalawa. Instead, he cupped her face. “You had a calm composure, and you didn’t act recklessly. I trust you. So, will you tell me what happened? I will punish that person who bullies you.”

Lawrence guided Blythe to sit on the sofa.

Then Blythe started to tell Lawrence what had happened.

And as Blythe was retelling the whole story, Lawrence’s face was darkening from anger.

“That bastard…” Lawrence clicked his tongue. Kumuyom rin ang kamay niya. “He touched you? And he even wanted you to become his woman? I’ll kill him!”

“No need.” Sabi ni Blythe.

“Huh?” Lawrence's dark expression became confused.

Blythe looked down. “I used my inner strength to break his arm. His arm won’t recover and remain broken.”

Ngumiti si Lawrence. “That’s good. But still, I wanted to kill him.” Aniya.

“Ahmm, sorry.” Hingi ni Blythe ng tawad. “I caused you trouble. Ezralyn told me about the laws of werewolves. Beta Cade did teach me about the laws, but I forgot…”

“It’s okay.” Nginitian ni Lawrence ang mate niya. “Leave it to me. Huwag mo ng alalahanin ang tungkol sa nangyari.”

“But…”

“Baby, forget it. Ako na ang bahala doon.” Lawrence assured Blythe. He scoops his mate and Blythe immediately clings to his arms. “I’ll take you to your room, and you rest.”

“That’s your room,” Blythe corrected.

Ngumisi si Lawrence. “It will be our room in the future.”

Namula si Blythe saka nawalan ng imik.

Lawrence chuckled and took his mate to the room to rest.

After Lawrence sends his mate to her room, he readied for tomorrow because trouble will arrive.
