Rick
I felt the life literally draining out of me, looking at her small, innocent trembling form, her glossy eyes tearing my heart to pieces, making me feel so helpless...So f*****g useless...
There she stood, facing her possible death, unmoved as I watched the horror scene unfold right in front of my eyes, unable do to anything a tall, my heart slamming wildly against my ribcage as I watched that f*****g bastard point the gun at her face, smirking like a f*****g maniac.
And then it happened...
He pulled the trigger and my heart stopped for a second, watching everything go in slow motion, wide-eyed, the bullet going straight to...Lucifer's chest?
I stood there, frozen for a brief moment, staring dumbstruck at Lucifer's body standing still, unmoved, shielding my sister's tiny frame as she kept shaking, her eyes closed shut, tears slowly falling down her cheeks while I was still unable to register what the f**k just happened.
He just...saved my sister's life...
He took the bullet destined for her...
The bullet...
Quickly snapping out of my trance, I then remembered the fucker was still pointing the gun right towards them, and without a second thought I jumped over the table, tackling him to the ground, the gun flying away from his hand in the process somewhere under a table.
Nothing could stop me now.
You're going to pay,asshole.
I started violently slamming my fists in his face, over and over again, Gio's pleadings filling the tensed air, begging for me to stop.
Like that would ever happen.
Not even if God himself came down from heaven couldn't stop me now, after what this filthy bastard tried to do.
He tried to kill her! He tried to take away the single, and most precious human being left in my life. My little sister. My everything.
And that I could never forgive.
Blake
I slowly opened my eyelids, the tension filling the silent air forcing me to do so, facing a black wall, standing tall right in front of me.
Quickly remembering what happened only moments ago, my mind instantly became on high alert, so I quickly did a check-over on my body, only to realize there was nothing. No pain, no injury, no nothing.
What the hell...
And then I realized…
Taking a step closer, I then took a better view at the black wall, only to notice Luc, standing tall, unmoved, with a bullet-size hole in his crisp white shirt.
Oh my god!
I brutally grabbed his arm, forcing him to turn aside, facing me.
"Oh my god! Are you hurt? Let me see!" I bombarded him with questions and demands, my hands already working their way to undo his shirt buttons when he abruptly stopped me, his big warm hands gripping my wrists, keeping them pressed against his chest.
"I'm fine,” He replied with a slight trace of amusement glinting in his eyes, and before I could ask how was that even possible, he had already answered my unsaid question.
"Bulletproof vest,” He winked, showing me a dazzling smile.
What? But...I was almost certain I didn't feel anything but warm skin underneath his shirt...
What the hell...Am I imagining things now? I must be too shocked...
Being too focused on checking Luc and myself for injuries, I didn't notice the violent scene unfolding right next to us…
My eyes instantly widened in horror, now watching how my brother repeatedly slammed his fists in Ricardo's already battered face, his knuckles soaked in crimson liquid. Ricardo's blood.
Oh my god...he's going to kill him!
No! Not again! Not another one!
Knowing that I most certainly didn't have enough strength to stop my big bully of a brother from murdering the twisted brat, I asked help from the single one who I believed to be capable of actually doing so.
"Luc, please, stop him!" I cried, harshly tugging at his arm, feeling small tears already prickling at the corners of my eyes.
I simply couldn't stand to see my brother killing another man.
Feeling the obvious desperation in my tone, he didn't waste another second and hurried towards Rick, grabbing him from underneath his shoulders, forcefully hoisting him up and away from Ricardo's barely breathing form, then effortlessly kept him in place as he kept thrashing in his arms, growling like a crazed beast.
Wow...and I thought my brother was strong...
"Let me go! Let me end him!"
"Get off me, you son of a b***h! Let me kill him!"
Not wasting another precious moment, Gio hurried towards his son, helping him get up then turned his head towards me, mouthing a small "thank you", before he turned and quickly walked away as my brother kept violently thrashing against Luc, angrily shouting after them,
"Get back here! You coward!"
"I will find you, you hear me?"
Watching him struggle in Luc's vice grip, his once honey brown eyes now looking bloodshot red, practically seething in anger I then strode towards him, hurrying to calm him down.
"Ricky..."
I gently placed my small hand on his cheek, forcing him to look into my eyes, coaxing him to focus on me.
"Please, stop. I'm ok now, see?" I spoke in a soothing, gentle tone, my eyes never leaving his, feeling his rage gradually decrease.
"I'm fine. Everything is fine,” I calmly whispered, snaking my arms around his neck, coaxing him to rest his head against my shoulder, soon feeling his arms wrap around my waist, his ragged breathing slowly becoming more even.
His face was now buried in my neck, inhaling my scent, his arms keeping me close to his body as my fingers gently massaged the back of his neck.
