Death screamed, “b***h!”
Anthea burped.
Adriana worked. Her heart broke when Lucky attacked Ta’Hast. Not that she had feelings like other mortals might display, but she did feel something for the strange entertainer.
Her feelings for Lucky were much stronger. Their time together made her feel mortal, like she imagined other people felt, but her heart still belonged to Jinx. She mourned his death. She would always place him first in her heart, but now he was dead. And no matter what she told herself, the dog was still just a dog. When she ate the mushrooms and saw how Lucky saw himself, he was still a shadow of his former self.
She was certain her feelings would grow for Lucky, but they would never match the intensity she felt for Jinx. The thought made little sense to her,
