_________________ . . . June woke up to the tickling at the tip of her nose. She blinked her eyes open to find Heath, his face mere inches from hers, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. He leaned in and kissed the bridge of her nose gently before brushing his thumb over her cheek to wipe away a stray strand of hair. "Good morning, beautiful," he murmured, his voice still thick with sleep. The early morning light streamed in through the windows, casting a soft glow over his features and making him look even more handsome than she had remembered. June blinked, trying to shake the fog from her mind. The events of the previous night played out in her head like a hazy dream, the passion and intensity of their encounter leaving her both satisfied and bewildered. She had never expected to end up in Heath's bed, let alone waking up to such a tender moment of affection. "s**t!" She breathed out, realizing that she had gone and slept with her new Boss merely two days after he had joined the company. What did that say about her? But Heath was unfazed, his eyes twinkling with the kind of satisfaction that came from a night well spent. He kissed her again, his lips tender on hers. The sensation sent a jolt through her body, and she felt a warmth spread through her that had nothing to do with the early morning sun. "What do you say to some breakfast?" He suggested, his voice a low rumble that sent a thrill down her spine. "It's a Wednesday." June looked around for her phone. "We need to get to work. What time is it?" Heath turned to the opposite side to check the clock. "Seven in the morning." "s**t!" June jolted upright, her heart racing. "We're going to be late for work!" Heath chuckled, his fingers tracing lazy circles on her bare shoulder. "Relax," he said, his voice a sleepy rumble. "I've got it covered." Before June could protest, Heath had rolled out of bed and was already dialing someone on his phone. She watched, half-dazed, as he talked in hushed tones, his eyes never leaving hers. When he hung up, he turned to her with a wink. "Don't worry, love. I've called in a favor. We've got the day off." June's cheeks flushed at the term of endearment. "This is not professional at all." "But it's our little secret," Heath said, his smile turning boyishly charming. He slid back into bed, his arms wrapping around her waist and pulling her against his bare chest. June felt a strange thrill at his words, the warmth of his body seeping into hers. Her thoughts swirled as Heath's hands began to roam again, his fingers tracing the curves of her body with a familiarity that sent shivers down her spine. She knew she should be worried about the implications of their actions, but the feel of his skin against hers was too tempting to resist. Heath's kisses grew more urgent, his tongue teasing hers as he rolled her onto her back. His weight pressed her into the mattress, the scent of their combined passion still lingering in the air. June felt a fresh wave of desire wash over her as he kissed a trail down her neck, his teeth grazing her sensitive skin. So they f****d. Like rabbits. For the entirety of the day until it was twelve. That's when Heath's stomach rumbled. "Well, I guess we can't ignore the real world forever," he murmured against her neck, his teeth grazing her sensitive skin. June giggled, the sound muffled by his chest. Heath climbed out of bed and stumbled to the washroom, his naked form a tantalizing sight that made June's stomach clench with need. He had his phone with him and began scrolling through a delivery app, his eyes scanning the options. "What are you in the mood for?" He called out, his voice echoing slightly off the marble walls. June pushed herself up onto her elbows, feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. "I don't know," she murmured, watching him through the open door. "Surprise me." Heath's eyes flicked up to hers, a smirk playing on his lips as he made his selection. The sound of the shower starting up drowned out the rest of his response, but she heard the words "trust me" before the door swung shut. She lay back against the pillows. Heath Robbins was the best s*x of June's life. But. As the water from the shower pattered against the marble tiles, June's mind raced with the potential repercussions of their impulsive night. The lines between boss and employee had been blurred, and she couldn't help but wonder how this would affect her career. Would he expect more than she was willing to give? Would their relationship be the talk of the office? Her heart pounded in her chest, fear taking over. As Heath stepped out of the shower, a cloud of steam following him, June took a deep breath and tried to push her anxieties aside. He was the CEO, after all, and she was just a PA. This couldn't possibly end well for her. But when he stepped out of the bathroom and handed her a towel with a wink, she couldn't help but feel a spark of excitement. "Freshen up." He had a flirtatious grin on his face. "The food will be here any minute. Though I am hungry for something else." June couldn't help but laugh nervously as she took the towel and stepped into the bathroom. The marble was cool against her bare feet, and she took a moment to compose herself before stepping into the shower. The water washed away the sweat and the worries of the previous night, leaving her feeling refreshed and alive. She allowed herself to indulge in the luxury of Heath's shower, the water pressure massaging her shoulders as she lathered up with his expensive body wash. When she emerged from the steamy bathroom, Heath had already donned a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, his hair still damp from his own shower. He looked up from his phone and smiled, "Ready for brunch?" June nodded, her stomach growling at the mention of food. Heath chuckled and jerked his head. "Let's go." . . . ____________________
