Chapter 5 Asking a date

I decide to go to that place again to see her, para pagbigyan ang sarili ko. Di naman ako mapakali sa kakaisip sa babaing yun. She had been occupying in my imagination for 2 weeks now.

As what Benni told me she usually performs around 10 o’clock until 11:30 at night with break, she often does 4 to 6 songs a night.

I when i got inside, the place are packs with people again. I settle on a seat in the center in same table i took before. I ordered my drink, this time i took a brandy.

I look around, i really find this place relaxing even there's a lot of guys around. I guess it's the vibe and the interior of the place.

There’s a performer in the stage but i don’t mind them, they are not the reason why I go here. After a while i heard an announcement that she’ll be performing in a minute. I got excited like a school boy got his first crush.

As she came out to the stage, my eyes never leave her. I focus all my attention to her, like studying her through her actions.

She really looks classy in all aspect, from the way she moves, she sit, the way she dress and hold herself to the public. She even looks elegant the way she holds the mic, she is a total performer the way her aura exude tonight.

She looks around and gives a bit of a smile. You can tell that smile is just for a show, a well practice smile. Coz her eyes is not smiling as what her face say, remain a cold eyes, a cold expression within. I can read her.

Her posture and looks scream of elegance. I wonder where she got the attitude and ways if she is just a mere performer in this club? Only earn a portion, maybe above from the regular people who works here but still just a portion, just enough to live by.

As she start singing. Oh boy she brings me somewhere. Her voice fills with serenity, i didn't take my eyes off her.

I can tell she is a sophisticated woman, not because she dress well but it’s the way she brings herself while performing. While i am being busy watching her, girls around are busy trying to get my attention. And i bluntly told them that I'm only interested in her, so they go off.

Her first song finish and everyone is clapping. She is great, she sings well. She sang again with another song. In two songs so far, all are really dramatic, a sad song at the same time romantic. I can tell she is an emotional person through her song preference.

"What is your story woman, you got me intrigued?" No wonder this place always full because she draws them to her. She is a good conveyor of emotion. She knows how to deliver it and people are affected by her or maybe it's her real emotion that shows.

After her performance she goes inside. I called a waiter.

“Can you ask the woman while ago if she is willing to talk to me after her performance? I am willing to pay whatever she wants, just talk. Tell my name is Zale Vasco.” Tumango ito at umalis.

After sometimes the waiter came back and still same response i got last time. She is not talking anyone tonight.

I feel defeated coz i came here not just to see her but to talk to her and maybe got a closer glimpse of her but none of that happen. Just an up close while she is performing.

I won’t accept that reason. I came here, wasted my time just to see her and i won’t get any? No one say no to me, siya pa lang and i won’t be Zale Vasco for nothing. I relax myself, patiently waiting for my time.

After her 5th song she announces that the last one she wound sings. This time she only sings, no dance but Bennie already said she just do sing every day. While she is singing i sneak into her cabin. Bennie told me she is staying inside. Gladly no one sees me, everyone is busy.

I head to the door below. But it's close, f**k how i can’t get in? So i waited in the dark, hiding in the other door. When i heard a footstep coming, i knew it was her because of the perfume. I smell a woman’s scent and it’s nice, so light not strong like other woman i used to go with. The room I’m hiding is the other girls rooms.

I saw her opening the door, when she’s almost got inside i get inside right away, pulling her with me and close the door, immediately. I know i shock her. Then i get closer towards her, so close that its only 10 inches away from each other. I cornered her.

“Sino ka? Anong kailangan mo?” Yun agad ang bungad niya na halatang nataranta.

“I am Zale Vasco the one you keep declining to talk to you.” Relax kong wika.

“Why you are here? This is restricted area.” Hysterical niyang wika ng nakabawi sa takot.

“I know but you won’t give me time so i was force to do this. Don’t worry i won’t do nasty things to you. I just want to talk you close.” Tiningnan niya ako ng masama, she looks cute suddenly instead of being a sophisticated woman para siyang bata na nagagalit. Salubong ang kilay.

“I am right, you are so beautiful;” nakita ko ang bahagyang pagkunot ng noo niya. "You bewitch me, you didn’t leave my mind from the first time i saw you. I just want to know why you had that effect on me." Wika ko while nakangisi di parin nilubayan siya ng tingin.

"Yan lang ang sasabihin mo at nag-aksaya ka pa ng panahon na puntahan ako dito?" Singhal niya sa akin.

“It’s true, di naman siguro kaila sayo that you got everyone’s interest here, all the guys are into you.”

“Iwan ko di ko naman hawak ang damdamin mo or nila. I just perform there, doing my work.” Ohh she knows how to retaliate.

"Yeah you just want to perform but you see all of us here are into you. You lured us in and us now you won’t take responsibility of your action?"

“Why would i do that? Sinabi ko ba na gustuhin niyo ako?” Kung kanina takot ito now she is fighting, she finds her courage to speak up. I like her feistiness.

"Off course not but we are not here if not because of you. Now, as a form of taking your responsibility, i want a date from you." Napangnga siya sa aking sinasabi. It's a demand.

"What, are you nuts? Bakit ko naman gagawin yun aber?" Namimilog pa ang mata niya sa gulat.

"Because maybe by that time, what i had felt for you will be gone. You see the more you say no the more i am into you. So if you want to get rid of me easily, just say yes or i will keep following and sneaking here. Baka may ibang maka-alam at gagaya sa akin;”sabi ko sa walang kwentang tricks. I hope it will work.

She just looks at me na may galit at di makapaniwala and i look dead serious on her.

“You know i never do some funny things. I am always serious in what i say or do;” dagdag ko pang wika.

“At saang date naman yan?” Hoo, di ako makapainwala my tricks work.

"It’s up to me sweetheart, it’s a surprise and don’t worry I’ll make sure you will enjoy, no monkey business i promise. Just a pure date, getting to know each other well. So ano? Say yes or i keep following in whatever you do?"

“I hate to be followed, i value my privacy." Madaling sabi niya and i already knew her answer by that phrase.

"Then just give in to my request, have a date with me promise di ka magsisi;" swear ko pa sa kanya. Para kaming bata kung mag-usap ngayon. I can't believe i become like this. Nawala bigla ang pagiging stricto at businessman aura ko.

“Okay when it is.” Yes sigaw ng utak ko, sa wakas nadali sa bola ko.

“Saturday night? After your performance, somebody will pick you up here.” Tumango lang siya.“Wag mo akong lukuhin masama akong magalit, baka di mo pa ako kilala.”

“Okay, marunong akong tumupad sa usapan Mr Vasco, sana ikaw din. At makakaalis ka na.” Biglang naging suplada ang babaing ito. Well it's fine, nakuha ko na ang gusto ko.

“Nope give me your number para matawagan kita kung kailan ko ipadadala ang tauhan ko. Type it here;” sabay bigay ko sa aking phone. “And don’t think of giving me the wrong number, i would know.” Paalala ko ulit.

“Sigurista ka talaga ano?” Parinig pa niya sa akin.

“I would not be considered as one the top businessman here if i am a lousy sweetheart. I know how to play my game;" saying it while winking at her.

“Good girl;” sabi after ko ma dial ang number and it did ring.

“By the way, you are so beautiful, so temptress. I will dream of you tonight sweet, bye.” Sabay ko hawak sa kanyang mukha. Her face is so smooth and silky. I can’t wait to kiss her lips soon at maangkin ko siya. Ngayon pa lang nanggigil na ako.

This is the start, i am excited for that day coz it will never be just a date. Hmm.
