I walk out of the room seeing Crystal leaning against the wall.
" Those girls must mean the world to you. If you're pleading to this group of females," she smiles. I shrug my shoulder following her down the hall. We go back to her office " since the meeting didn't last that long. We can go head to the community center." " Okay," Crystal puts her papers away then we head out of the building. We walk a couple streets over to the library. We walk in to everyone saying hey to Crystal. We walk to the children section when a small woman stops in front of us.
" Luna can I speak in private."
" Yes," she smiles, leading the girl away from me. I walk to the shelfs reading the titles. I pick up Cinderella , " excuse me." I look down seeing a little girl in front of me. " Yes."
" That's my favorite book."
" Really what's your favorite part?"
" When Cinderella and the prince get married."
" That's mine too."
" Really," her voice gets high.
" Yes," I chuckle.
" Can you read it to me?" I look behind me seeing Crystal still talking.
" Sure," she grabs my hand pulling me to the bean bags. I sit down on a green bean bag while the little girl sits next to me. I open the book and start reading. I show her each page as I read. When I reached the last page there were more kids sitting in the rear of the bean bags and a couple of adults standing around.
" I'm done sweetie," I close the book.
" Aww, can you read another book?" I stop Crystal looking at me, " how about I come back tomorrow and read another book," I hand her the book.
" Okay," she pouts. I chuckle standing up " see you tomorrow," I wave.
" Bye," she waves. I walk over to Crystal "you are really good with kids." I smile, when woman from earlier walks over.
" We would love for you to read to the kids," she smiles.
" I wouldn't mind."
" Let me write down your name and a time you'll be here." After all that we leave the library , " next is the hospital."
She must be mother Teresa or something. Everyone greets Crystal and mug me as we walk to the infirmary.
We walk in stopping at the front desk.
" Hey Carrie."
" Hi luna." They wave at each other as we walk past. We get on the elevator going to the second floor.
" What are we doing here," I look over at Crystal.
" Where checking on Derke for a few." This is going to be a weird visit. We get off the elevator walking past the nurses station. Crystal stops in front of an open door. I look past her seeing Evenly standing on the side of the bed.
What she's doing here?
" Knock knock," Crystal walks in. I follow behind staying by the door.
" Morning Luna," Derek sits up.
" How are you doing," Crystal walks to the side of the bed.
" I'm doing good. I should be put in a few hours."
" That's good."
" He would be better if that murderer wasn't here," Evenly cuts her eyes at me. I chuckle at her, " this murderer as you say. Could have did much worse."
" Taylor."
" Evelyn." I look at Crystal," sorry luna Crystal," I grit my teeth.
"Evelyn, I challenged Taylor to see who the better fighter was. She won, let it go." She stares at me for a second, " yes sir."
" Good now that we have a good understanding. We can talk about a strategy for training." Crystal pulls two chairs to the bed. I walk over taking a seat at the end. Everyone's eyes are on me, " what I'm thinking is that most likely the element and super strong immortals will be the first to fight. The marksmen will be last, they'll be the trickiest to fight. They can have multiple weapons and use them at the same time. I want to have people stationed with bows and arrows in trees, they'll intervene with the marksmen. The healers could be a slight threat but not to werewolves since you all have speed and strength." The room goes quiet, " what about the elements," Evelyn ask.
" Most elements solely depend on their ability. That's why I will have you guys training with weapons." She nods her head, " that not a solid plan."
" That's what we got on short notice," I shrug.
" Is there a list of people that are going to fight?"
" We have half the warriors and some of the patrols."
That's a good amount of fighters. They must likely spend most of the time training with weapons and speed.
" Taylor."
" Yes," I look over at Derek.
" Are you going to the training today?" I look over at Crystal, " she is."
" Good you could meet us there in a few hours."
" Yeah."
" We should be leave to finish up for the day," Crystal got up.
" See yall," we wave before leaving. We leave the building heading back to her offices where I help with a little paper work.
" Thanks for helping me."
" You're welcome."
" Want to grab a little lunch before you go train?"
" Yes."
" What are you in the mood for?"
" How about a burger and fries." We walk out the office bumping into alpha James.
" Hey honey," he kiss her.
" How are you ladies day so far?"
" Great, we are going out for lunch."
" Mind if I come."
" Not at all," they hold hands. I follow them out of the building to dinner. The owner ushered us to a table in the back.
" Luna, you didn't need to do all this for us," Crystal sits down. I sit across from her while alpha James sits next to her.
" It's no hassle for you two. Lilly will be over to take your orders," Luca smiles walking away. I pick the menu up from the table.
" Taylor, how was it working with Crystal?" " It was good," I smile.
" Taylor is going to be doing a reading hour at the library," Crystal gushes.
" Really," James looks surprised.
" Yes, she's a natural with kids."
" That's good to hear." I focus on the menu until the waitress take our order.
" What are you ladies doing for the rest of the day?"
" Derke invited Taylor to train with him."
" You must have beat him down bad for him to let you help train." We all laugh at the table.
" It wasn't that bad." The rest of lunch Crystal talk about the meeting.
" Thanks for lunch," I stand up.
" You're welcome. Tell me next time that you want to this all over again," Crystal smiles.
" I will,bye." I walk out of the dinner going to Grace's house. I knock on the door " who is it?"
" Open the door Nay."
" Don't get mad at me cause you was doing community service," the door opens. I walk past her in the house, " where's Grace?"
" At work."
" In a hour we are going to train with the pack. Go tell Mimi." Nayyirah goes up stairs while I go to the basement. I change into a t-shirt and yoga pants. I carry my shoes upstairs to the living room. I plop down on the couch grabbing the remote. I flip through the channels when I hear footsteps coming down the stairs. Niome walks in the living room.
" How was your day," she takes a seat next to me.
" It was good," I put on a movie.
" What did yall do?"
" She took me to a meeting then we went to the library. I went to the hospital talking to Derek and last we went to lunch."
" That sounds boring," Nay walks in sitting in the chair.
" It sounds like a decent day compared to our usual one." I shrug my shoulders trying to focus on the movie.
" You scared to be around the pack," Nay looks at Niome. She rubs her hands on her shorts " a little."
" You can't be all the people we have fought."
" Leave her alone Nay."
" I'm just saying we've been through far worse. We are only training. I bet you could beat every last one of them," they laugh.
