Melissa made a detour to Zack’s house to speak to him, and to check on Tara, after leaving the stables. Much as she wanted to solve the mystery of the vandalism, so she could relax again, she could not bring herself to hurry. She was tired after the morning she had had, on the back of the last week or so, and ready for a good, long rest, which she realised she was unlikely to get, despite her injuries, given the situation in the village.
