Melissa ended the call to Zack and immediately dialled another number. She cancelled the call before it could ring, though, after changing her mind about what she was doing. She was sure that DI Martins would want to know that there were reporters and a journalist in the village but was reluctant to tell her.
If she told her she would have to admit that she had allowed herself to be interviewed. She didn’t fancy being reprimanded for her lack of judgement in allowing that to happen; if it was possible she wanted to put off being reprimanded for as long as possible, preferably forever.
