CHAPTER 19TREVOR Mr. Ellis was late returning from lunch, and Larry found himself trying not to pace in front of his office door. He wanted to smoke a cigarette but resisted the urge. He heard the hall door unlock and swing open and recognized the figure of Mr. Ellis trudging down the hallway. “Sorry I’m late, Larry. You know how it is once you start talking golf.” Larry smiled and barely nodded in agreement. Mr. Ellis unlocked his office door and opened it, motioning with his free hand for Larry to enter first. “Take a seat.” Mr. Ellis said, pointing to the bare wooden chair in front of his desk.
