Sam wanted to fly up to Voinjama where she had worked with the Peace Corps as a teacher in a village school. She was still in touch with a few of the teachers who had taught there and wanted to see how the Peace Corps was faring.
I made plans to fly a day trip there and back. I located the best maps I could find, made a list of radio frequencies for directional navigation, and bought a new first aid kit.
To our delight, Winston was waiting for us in front of the hotel the next morning. I asked him if he wanted to accompany us or use the time to make more money. He chose the money. Nevertheless, he assured me that he would be waiting for us at the airfield when we got back.
