Melanie POV

"You can stay if you don't want to go "

"I have to go lali, I have to do this "

"What if the emperor takes the child and kills you "

I can see the fear and worries in lali face .this few weeks with her have been my best weeks .she took me like her younger sister, showing me love and care, I never imagined a stranger could give .she is scared, and I am scared, but I have to face this, if not now but later

Lali packed some few things for me including some of her clothes and food

"You can always come back if anything goes wrong" .she said with tears in her eyes

I hugged her and made my way out

On my way out, I heard noises and strange voice

"We know she is here "

"Bring her out "

"Those are the palace guards", lali shouted .you must run and leave here at once "

"I will have to face them this time lali "

I could see fear and worries on her face . I hugged her and left the room.

"You can have me no need causing a scene here ". I shouted at the guards.

"Take her", one of the guards commanded

I wonder what the emperor said to them, that made them this angry

I look back and saw lali worried face, indeed she cares.

My hands were tied together, and I was put in a horse .the trip back to the palace was silent

"Why is the emperor searching for me " I asked one of the guards

"You should be the one answering that ". One of the guards answered with anger.

We got to the palace at night fall .one of the guards took me to my old room with my hands still tied together

"don't even think of doing anything stupid,I will be at the door "the guard shouted and left

I'm scared, but I have to face him no matter what . I waited but still no sign of the emperor coming in, I waited for hours, but he still didn't come.

I lay on my wood bed .oh I miss lali home, her home was comfortable and smell nice, and her bed was also comfortable.

I lay on my bed and forced myself to sleep. I tried closing my eyes trying to imagine what really happened that night after the drink .but still, my memories were blank.I allow the darkness to take over me and I slept off.

"Melanie you have to wake up now "

I heard soli calling me in my sleep . I open my eyes and saw her worried face .she tried lifting me up with her hands.

I smiled at her and went to wash myself .when I'm done, she helped dress me

I can see she was really scared, her hands were shaking. Why the hell is she shaking and why can't she look her me . I was really furious and angry.
