"Guards, "Take her to her room ,and make sure she is guided at all time she must not leave this palace except I said so "

They took her out and left my chambers

I sat on my bed.and thought of what I would do if what she said was true. if is the child was really mine, I can't abandon this child, he or she has my blood . I will have to get those memories back before I could do anything.

Melanie POV

The guards led me to my room. as soon as I went in, my door was locked from the outside . I guess the guards are keeping watch over me.

I lay on my bed and thought of what the king said .he said he will only accept this child if he gets his memory of that night back. what if he doesn't get his memory back, what becomes of me and my unborn child. I felt like crying but decided I need to strong, if not for anything but for my unborn child.

The next morning I tried going out, but the guards told me the king doesn't want me out of the room. then and there I realized I'm in a prison. Soli brought in my food and told me the palace have been talking about me., some said I stole from the king, some said the king wants to use me for some sacrifice, that why I'm been put in a prison

"Is there something you want to tell me? "soli asked

I'm pregnant, " I told her

For the king "she asked

Yes .but we both were drunk

So, what did he say "she asked

"He doesn't remember a thing, and I will have to stay here until he gets his memory of that night back.

After soli left, I rested a little not until I saw my room door opened and the empress walk in

immediately I stood up from the bed and greeted her

"There is no need for that," she spoke in anger

"The king told me you are pregnant is this true "

"Yes my lady "

"And he told me you said you both were drunk. "

"Yes my lady "I replied

"Why do I think you are lying? "the king might be drunk but definitely not you Melanie ,you took advantage of the king's weakness. "I know your type, who wishes for power and fame and will do anything to have them "

"That's not true my queen, "I replied to her

"Shut up when I speakyou are nothing but a slave ,and for that baby he or she won't be born or accepted in this kingdom. "I will make sure of that

With that, she left my room, I was speechless and confused., now I'm an enemy to the empress. Congratulations Melanie, you just won a lottery.

It's been two months since I have been kept in this room, I haven't seen the emperor since the last encounter. soli has been bringing me food and telling about the gist and gossip in the palace. my memories of that night were still the same.every night I tried forcing myself to remember anything new from the memories I had .but I still saw the same thing.

While in my thoughts, a guard walks in

"The king wants to see. "I stood up and made my way to the king's Chambers

"Come in, "a voice order me in

I went in and knelt down before him

"I can't remember a thing, " he said,

" but I won't allow my child to be born as a bastard

"So we are getting married". he spoke those words as a command

"I won't allow my child to be born as a bastard so for that, we are getting married for this child ,after the child is born, you can leave, and I will settle you the priest will soon be here ".

The emperor has made his decision and I have no say in it. this baby is royalty and I have no right over it

The priest came in and did the marriage right . I was now married to the king, a thing I never dreamt of.

"You will now live in my palace so I can monitor you and the child"

A guard led me to a new room which was so much different from my room .the room looks like royalty

Soli came in and told me the king made her my personal maid. and she was the only maid assigned to me. I told her to me, she wasn't a maid but a friend and a sister to me.

It's been two months since I got married to the king.he doesn't come or allow anyone to see me except for soli . My pregnancy is five months gone and still can't remember what happened after I took that wine.

While I was still in my thoughts.the emperor walk in, I tried standing up to greet him when he rushed and held me down

"You should sit down "

I sat down and greeted him.

"How is the baby? "

The baby is fine, "I replied

Tell me if you need anything, "he asked

I wish for some fresh air, my king"

He looks at me for some time and stood up

Follow me, "he commanded

I stood up and followed him., we left his palace and went to the garden in the palace, the air here was so fresh and good . I can't remember the last time I felt like this.

Emperor Kai POV

I saw how happy she was, here at the garden .this was the first time I saw her smiling, and believe me she has the most amazing smile, I wonder what she might be going through, married to a king who doesn't love or care for her, and now will soon leave her baby after it's been born

"Are those real flowers"she asked, bringing be out of my thought

Yes, they are, "I replied

They are beautiful I wish I could be a flower"she replied

And why do you wish to be one? "I asked

She looked up at me and smiled.her smiles were beautiful

"Flowers have no worries, they don't feed or take care of themselves, they have people who love and adore them "she said those words with a smile

"But they die easily, " I replied

"Everyone has to die ,so what's the difference". she replied with a smile, but this smile was different from the previous ones. Behind this smile were sadness and pain, and I wish I could take them away.

"Can I go back in? "she asked?

I took her back to her room and told her to rest., while she was about to lay on her bed, I noticed she was in pain. I rushed to her and help her lay down, and for some strange reason I was scared.

When did you start experiencing pains"I asked

Three days ago"she replied

And you kept it to yourself"

I feel it would be better not to bother anyone, "she replied

I was so angry and felt like shouting at her, but I held my self and walk out.
