King Kai's POV

"What did you say ". I asked so that I could be sure I heard him right.

"I don't have a father, I only have a mother a godmother and a godfather, but I don't have a father ".he replied nonchalantly and kept on eating the food.

I stared at him with shock and wild eyes, how can a kid his age says he has no father, and he was so comfortable with it like it was nothing.

"Do you know your dad!". I asked

"No".he replied firmly and kept on eating.

I shake my head and stared at him with curiosity.

I sent Melanie away with the guard that day, but here he was telling he has no father.

Hearing those words from him, I wish Melanie was here, so she could give me answer to all these questions.

"I'm full ". He whispered and stared at me those two set of green eyes that I could feel piecing through my soul.

"Are you full ?". I asked

"Yes, thanks".he flash me a big smile that mealt my heart.

"Can I go back to godmother?" He Stood up from the bed and stood between my legs

"Godmother and father hasn't eating anything".he murmured sadly.

I watch his expression changed the moment he realized they haven't eaten.

I pull him to myself so that I was staring right into his eyes.

"Don't worry, I will bring food for them okay ?" I promised

He shakes his head and flash me a big cute smile that I find fascinating.

"Guards". I called out

My personal guard rushed in and bows his head to me.

"Have the villagers eaten ?". I asked

"Yes my king they finished eating just few minutes ago ". He responded.

"Tell the maids to give them another food". I ordered

"Yes my lord ".he replied and left my Chambers.

I turn my gaze on the green eye boy and saw him sleeping with his head on the hand of the chair while he stands and sleeps.

I hissed and stood up from my chair.

I walk up to him and carried him in my arms and gently lay him on my bed, I covered him properly with the blanket and couldn't help but stare at him.

He was incredible handsome for a boy.

I moved away from the bed and sat on the couch while I stare at him.

I stared at him and then remembered how I used to watch Melanie sleep when she had him

Thinking about her, I remembered she was help captive.

I stood up from the couch and left the room.i got out of Chambers and saw the chief guard outside

"My lord".he rushed to me when he noticed my presence

"Who was held captive?" I asked so that I could be sure

"Melanin my lord".he replied

I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath.

"What should we do my king?" He asked

I hissed and thought for a while

"Nothing, we will do nothing". I murmured and went back to my chamber

I got to my chamber and poured out a bottle of red in a glass.

He was provoking me just by keeping Melanie captive, he won't kill her that I'm very sure about.

He released everyone except her and thinks he can use her to get to me.

I sat on the chair and took a sip of my drink and thought for a while.

I won't pass a message rather I will stay quiet and pretend I did not get his message and let me see his reaction.

Although I love kids, but I have Never been this attached to a child and more, especially another man's child.

I stared at the child and wondered how life would have been if only he was really mine.

I was in thought when the empress announced her coming.

She came into my room and bows a little before walking to me

"My king I saw some people were added to the people brought in yesterday "

"Yes", I murmured

" Are these all the villagers ?"she asked

"Few are still with him ". I refused calling only Melanie because I did not want her to start asking unnecessary questions.

"Oh, so what will you do?" She asked

"I'm thinking of a plan ". I murmured

She nods her head before I gaze fell on Malik

"Who is that ?" She asked while taking a better look on him.

"He is one of the villager's child".

She stared at me shocked and with wild eyes

"Why is he here ".she asked while staring at me with curiosity

"He is here because I want him to be here"I spoke firmly.

She stared at me confused and wanted to speak, but I shut her up

"I demand to be left alone ". I muttered out those words as a command.

"But my King".she tries speaking, but I cut her off

"Leave". I ordered

She stares at me for a while before leaving my Chambers.

I hissed in frustration and lay on the chair with so many thoughts in my head.
