The next morning was all a blur. I woke up eight am and groaned in frustration once I realized that I only had two hours left till I would be considered late. I sighed up for excitement bit now it was slowly becoming a health hazard.
I brushed my teeth, bathed while trying to ignore the taunts that my annoying AI decided to bother me with.
“You seem to be in a shitty mood” Moonlight commented after I had sighed for the nth time.
“Yeah? What was your first clue?”
In all honesty I appreciated the fact that Moonlight was in this house but then again when you have a computer that thinks for itself and learned everything it knows from you it tends to turn into an AI with a bitchy character.
“I think what you need is a good night’s sleep, I heard you whimpering like a cat again last night” Moonlight’s sarcastic voice echoed across the house.
“I don’t know what it is like to have emotions but I do know when a human is tired and you Light, are tired”
I sigh “I will get a well deserved rest once I am done with this final mission”
Moonlight stayed quiet after that, I guess I had finally silenced the beast.
Being in the organization was different though, I was the quiet b***h who did not care about anything or anyone but in reality or at least one reality, I am a cold ruthless CEO that everyone fears...I don’t really know who I am but I know who to be whenever I am in the midst of people.
“Good morning!” seeing Eve’s bright smile reminded me that I promised she would go home with me today, I fought the urge to groan out loud once I spotted her face, I forced a sweet smile that I was pretty sure she knew was forced.
“Good morning Eve! I trust you had a wonderful night” I said in my sweetest voice, Eve all but chuckled.
“it seems like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning” she says hinting at the fakeness in my tone.
I scoff “I always wake up on the wrong side of the bed what matters is which side I wake up on” I replied as we both began to make our to Tony’s office. Eve laughs and scratches her chin. “you’re always such a bundle of joy” she deadpans as I couldn’t help but laugh...I am a bundle of joy, I agreed in my head.
“You’re early” Tony said in a dry voice and my eyes drifted to the clock at the side of his table, it read 11:45 am.
Well, that explained his displeased expressions even though he kept avoiding any eye contact between the both of us.
“Yes, we pride ourselves in always arriving on time Mr. higher rank” Eve said with a chuckle. Tony rolled his eyes while tapping his fingers impatiently on his desk while Eve and I stood in front of him like children that were about to be scolded.
“I don’t have the time or the energy to exchange words with you today Eve” he stood up and arranged his ugly brown suit jacket that he always wore ever Wednesday. We all wonder why he never switches things up or even spices it up a bit.
“Let us go”
“Where exactly are we going?” I ask already getting tired with the cryptic s**t that has been going on since yesterday. Just tell us everything at once so we can all be on our f*****g way!
“We are going to the underground cells, to release Cullen Inber”
Well, that gave me quite a rush. I was excited to see this specific vampire, his name was in every exam, every history book and every study guide that the organization gave. Well, not his actual name but you know what I mean. Ever since I joined this organization and graduated from being a trainee, all of the excitement had faded away all because our darling here had been chosen as my partner and then to worsen everything, her uncle pampers her like she is a three year old who easily makes mistakes and who would die from every little mistake…which of course resulted in me being the scape goat because while Eve dearest is being protected by her uncle by being given stupid missions like negotiating werewolf borders and helping witches with their experiments…I was always there with her and unfortunately I have no choice but to do it because we are partners and every single employee of the S.S.C.P is always assigned to another and then we sign a pact of a hundred years friendship blah blah rubbish.
“I can’t wait”.
While we walked to the dungeons, we passed by a whole lot of people who kept looking at Eve and I with pitiful expressions. They had all probably heard the news about the mission that we had been given. Do they all think we are unhappy with it?
Well, I don’t know about Eve but babysitting a four hundred year old psychopath Vampire sounds just as exciting as sky diving and I love to sky dive.
The dungeons were not actual dungeons, they were clean, like normal prisons. Each cell held one person who had broken the rules and laws that had been set by the S.S.C.P.
Shit.
They all looked healthy as f**k.
We kept walking though, past the whistling prisoners and down to the end of the long stretch of a stupid hallway that had cells on each sides.
We were now standing in front of a wall and I would’ve asked Tony if he had already lost his mind if I have not been working with Supernaturals for the past year. I have learnt to not judge a book by its cover and also believe in endless possibilities…like walking through a wall which is what I’m guessing Tony wants us to do right now.
Just then, he raises his hand to the wall and then a green line appears, scans his palm prints and then I hear a click and then another and then another. The walls shook and then finally they gave way. It opened like a door.
“Well, what do you know?...it’s a secret dungeon” I chuckled under my breath. I had a feeling that the smile that was plastered on my lips at that moment was going to stay that way for a long time.
