Chapter 10

Pierce .

I cannot believe am doing this for her. I can't remember the last time I took orders from a nobody.

I slammed by car door.

" Hey Andy, I want you to get me info on someone. As soon as now . A child "

" sure , go head ".

" Anna Shepiro"

"May take a few minutes or hours but am on it."

I won't head to school, maybe later. I drove go the address she had stated.

The neighborhood gave me flash backs . Anna and I grew in a poor neighborhood just like this . So many houses looking shabby, gunshot sounds could be heard from a distance as a police siren followed after.

I knew what I was coming into when I had my car changed to an old Toyota and wore a shabby hoodie and faded jeans.

I could see younger ghosts of Anna and I running on the road unaware of the dangers around us.

We did come from a wealthy home then everything changed and we ended up in the ghetto.

I had to hurry as such places can get ugly in seconds .

I spotted the green house , the gates were rusty, the grass had over grown . On the small compound were abandoned chairs that had already grown grass and rust .

I knocked at the door , faded white paint .This house has seen all kinds of revolutions I presume.

There was no response. I pushed the door open . but it was locked.

Seems like no one is home .

I got back into my car and drove to the school.

Walking into the teachers lounge I spotted a short haired lady marking a few books.

" good afternoon miss " She looked up and gasped.

" my apologies for startling you "

" oh ! it's nothing, hey aren't you , oh my God ! Its You.Pierce!

I smiled at her . The poor lady will faint and I need to know if the little girl came to school or not .

" Do you know a girl by the name Molly?"

" Kalahari sent you right, she really loves that kid like she's her mother. Sadly I didn't see her today. "

" she didn't come "

" yes ,"

" okay thanks"

I left before she could ask more questions or fangirl over me .

I just want to get this over and done with then head to work .

I drove back to the hospital.

She was resting.

I stared at her wondering why I let her have control over me .

She woke up.

" you are back so soon"

" it's seven"

She looked around.

" it's dark already"

She yawned adorably.

"did you find her? "

" no "

" did she go to school?"

" no "

A frown formed on her face.

" why so? Are you sure you went?"

" yes , the house was locked. She didn't go to school"

" I did what I came to do so do your part "

She was absent minded .

" I have to take a call. We will discuss this "

" Sir, I have communicated with the ports authority. The ship has passed inspection. We are good to go"

" thank you, the goods have to arrive in great condition. Glass is in very high demand "

" indeed sir . All is in order "

After the brief call I went back to her ward.

The bed was empty . I checked in the changing room. Empty .

" s**t ! "

Kalahari.

I wasn't going to lay on the bed like a frozen sausage. I have to go see Molly . I need to be sure she's okay .

I was in slight pain on my hand . Pierce the dork is lucky the bullet hit on the flesh and not on the bone or somewhere serious.

The wound was sewn , I worse a bandage and not a sling , better.

The hospital isn't very far from where Molly lives . I can walk.

I actually ran , I had to.

When I got to her house the door was slightly open .

I spotted the disorganized kitchen packed with dirty dishes. The house stank of alcohol and weed. This is not a home for a child at all .

I took a knife to armour myself .

Slowly checking in the living room , empty.

The kitchen cabinets no sign of her hiding.

All this while barefoot.

Tiptoeing gently.

I felt a tap on my shoulder.

I launched a blow with my weapon.

He moved fast.

" you ass hole I nearly slit your throat"

" let's go , I want the tape , this place stinks ."

" no"

I walked into one the hallway.

There was an awful rotten smell coming from the basement but the entire house stinks so we can't tell what it is . The skink was making my stomach churn.

We walked into one of the bedrooms.

It had a mattress a few bottles of beer and trays of ashes. The mattress had some dark brown substance on it , it stunk .

The second room was locked .

" I can't open it "

" step aside " he stated.

" show off " I muttered.

He hit it with his elbow it sprung open .

The room had a thin mattress on the floor. On it was a plump body of a man . Next to the man lay a small what looked like sack

It moved.

Pierce took out his gun as he shielded me to stand behind him.

"wait "

It wasn't a sack . A child got up , shaking she moved away .

She pointed a knife at us , her tiny hands couldn't hold the knife well.

Molly!

The room was dark the most I could make out was shadow figures .

" Molly its okay , we are here to help you "

She was sobbing .

I ran to where she was and held her , she held on to me like her last time. I laid her head on my chest .She couldn't stop sobbing.

What did they do to this poor girl . Pierce turned on the lghts .

To our horror, there was a dead man with several stab wounds . his blood had soaked the mattress . The blood was still flowing meaning he had died recently .

We had to get Molly out of here , she can't see this.

Her dress was bloody, she was shivering and weeping. She had this dress on the last time I saw her in school. Pierce handed his hoodie to me .

I put it on her , her blue eyes glaring at me hoping I don't go .

" call the cops " I said.

"no, no , cops no ." she cried .

" it's okay dear, they will not harm you . " I consoled her she clung on to me like her life depended on it .

" honey, who else is in this house?" Pierce asked .

I was taken aback I had no idea he was kind to children.

I knew he had a good side of him hiding beneath that tough guy skin .

" mommy" she blurted softly ,her voice was still shaking while.her heart was racing.

" can you call her or take us to where she is ?"

She nodded slowly.

Pierce took her from my arms and carried her .

We walked past the other room.

" there " she pointed at the basement.

It was very dark.

I have seen movies of basements, am curious to actually see one .The thrill is so real , the odor is enough to warn you not to go .

I held Pierce's hand he glared at me .

" we go together"

We went in ,I turned on the lights , it didn't look that awful.

The lights were red, there was a pink fluffy carpet, a pink ring light, a mirror, a bed , a camera pointing to the bed , to our right was a closet of costumes . Wait is this ...

This is a cam show studio.

Right next to the mirror shelf was a dead body , a swarm of flies were flying around it , you would think it's a beehive .

The smell was choking.

We quickly left the room and shut the door behind it.

I burped several times.

Something sinister took place here.
