Chapter 9

526 Words
Celeste's POV I slowly opened my eyes and the moment I saw Theodore's eyes directly looking at me. "G-Good morning," I awkwardly greeted. "Good morning," he greeted back and after that, it is followed by silence. After a while, Theodore broke off the stare and then get off the bed. "Forget everything that I said last night," he told me. "I won't," I responded. Theodore looked at me with furrowed eyebrows and I saw irritation in his eyes when he heard my answer. "I'll help you forget about her," I added. "I don't need your help," he responded. I get off the bed then faced him and look at him bravely. "You can tell me all your pain. You can be vulnerable to me. You don't have to pretend like you weren't hurting," I told him. Theodore let out a sarcastic laugh. "I am drunk last night that's the reason why I accidentally shared those but here you are acting all special after knowing a little detail about me," he responded then looked at me intently. "I'll help you forget her," I uttered with finality. Theodore looked at me intently. "Do what you want," he answered then stepped out of the room because the way he looks I knew he already lost his patience with me. I let out a deep breath and then followed him outside. After hearing how broken he is I felt bad because I felt like I am doing my job. He is paying me more than enough but I can't even help him. He is the reason why I can save money for Ava's operation that is why I will do everything to help him, even though he declines and keeps on rejecting his pain. I headed towards the kitchen and I almost got lost luckily their maid told me where it was. "Good morning," I shyly greeted. Alex smiled at me when our eyes meet while Theodore's mother looked at me with her raised eyebrows. Theodore on the other hand ignored my presence. "Let's have breakfast Celeste," Alex invited me but I shook my head. "It's fine I am still full. I am just here to say goodbye," I responded politely declining her offer. "Sit," Theodore's mother uttered which made me swallow hard. Alex looked at me with an apologetic look. "Join us, Celeste," their mother added so I have no choice but to sit beside Theodore. "Did you fight?" she asked so I looked at her and then nod my head. "Just a small fight Ma'am," I politely responded then gave her a small smile. I awkwardly sit on the chair too shy to even get anything. Theodore must have noticed it so he let out a deep breath and then put a toasted bread on my plate. "Thank you," I told him. "Do you want anything else?" he asked with his cold voice. "Just egg," I responded so he took the plate with a fried egg and then put one on my plate. "I never thought you have this sweet side Theodore," Alex commented which made my cheeks burn red. "Shut up Alex," Theodore responded then continued eating.
