CHAPTER 7
The next day...
At the breakfast table, Joe gazed at Charrie as he waited for her to sit comfortably in one of the chairs. His lips rose in one direction as he noticed his gaze made her uncomfortable.
"What is wrong with you?" she asked. Slightly disconcerted at Joe and the ladies but she was aware that the tension at the table had something to do with the visitor last night.
"I wonder when will I be informed about the development of the Fast and Furious part VIII movie. I missed my chance last night to see the preview." He teased gently.
Candies and Tina laughed silently while looking at Charrie, her face turned crimson.
Charrie was aware that she had been their topic the whole morning.
While she was dressing up, the four of them had been talking about Hyan. Her friends had been so curious about them but--it was too early to tell, even Charrie had yet to figure out what was going on.
"Well, I will inform you at the right time. Don't worry!" she replied calmly.
"I heard the lead actor is one hell of a guy! I was assuming that the leading lady would find it difficult to resist him." He continued, his smile reaching his eyes. It wasn't a secret to them that Charrie was a little reserved when it came to relationships.
"You bet! I can apply as a double for the kissing scenes," Candies joined the teasing game.
"Stop it, guys! We have a lot to do today. Are you ready for the set-up?" Charrie tried to change the topic.
"Yes, madame CEO. We should be going in a while." Joe grinned. Charrie was blushing; they knew she was trying to avoid being questioned about Hyan.
"Then let's all go! Let's impress our audience!" Charrie stood up to get her things.
"Alright! Let's go, team!" Joe and the team proceeded to the door. They didn't pressure their boss anymore.
At the tapping, Hyan was in a good mood, completing almost all the scenes required of him in the first or second take. His camera resolution was better than ever, and he appeared more charismatic, and the team predicted that of all Hyan's previous works, this would be his best.
Hyan sync into the character required quickly. As the camera rolled, even the director was impressed and amazed at the result of his takes. They could not ask for more, and Hyan was a real professional.
"Good take!" the director said, "Excellent, Hyan," he added.
Since that was the final shoot for his clothing endorsement, the team was relieved. Everyone clapped their hands when the director officially ended the session an hour earlier than expected. They knew Hyan's time was limited, but they weren't hoping they could finish everything, even earlier than scheduled.
"Congratulations, Hyan!" everybody was congratulating him.
"It's due to everyone's effort and support! I appreciate your confidence!" Hyan responded.
"Why don't we have lunch in the place nearby? Anyway, we finished tapping ahead of time," the director offered.
"Sure! But it must be a quick lunch since we have to proceed to another tapping by 2 pm," Hyan answered.
"Yes! Yes! We will book already, so orders will be ready when we arrive," the director agreed.
Hyan was relieved. He wanted to finish all the day's commitment to have time to see Charrie and spend time with her. He longed to see her, but he had to finish all his schedule for the day. In desperation, he reached for his phone and called her.
Meanwhile...
At the hotel, Charrie's team was busy with the installation. Their booth got the best spot among the exhibition participants. They made sure the set-up would appeal to their target market. They have a modern setup, which complements their product offering. Their booth had monitors to showcase their products. Warm lights around the booth added to the overall appeal. They wanted to impress the Japanese market, ensuring their booth would come out the best among the participants.
So far, they have three clients in Japan, and they wanted to secure more.
Their business was unique, so they could still solicit clients in Japan despite its advancement in technology. They also have partnerships and small offices in 4 countries aside from their main office. Their new collaboration with the Tanaka group, which she had signed yesterday, would be in-charge of their clients in Tokyo.
The team was busy with the installation when an attractive Japanese man approached them. He is the President of this event and a good friend of Charrie. Yakoshiro was instrumental to her expansion and significantly helped explore more clients in Tokyo.
He greeted everyone.
"Hi, Charrie! Everything good?" Yakoshiro asked.
'Yes, thanks for giving you this spot; I like it!" she extended her appreciation.
"By the way, do you have time? I have something to discuss with you. But let's do it outside. Say we try out a new Korean restaurant in the area. I've been eating the hotel food for some time, which makes me sick already." He told her.
Trusting the person for a long time, Charrie agreed. "Sure! What time will we go?" Charrie still had time to spare as their briefing would be in the late afternoon.
"I guess-- now is the right time as I'll be busy after lunch. Let's have an early lunch instead. I'll see you in the lobby in a few minutes, and I will also arrange for our service," Yakoshiro advised. He was also a busy person. Like Charrie, time was so crucial for him.
"Candies, would it be okay if I left for lunch early? I'm meeting with Yakoshiro," she called Candies.
"Sure. No problem and I have arranged our food," Candies told Charrie.
After giving her a wink, she proceeded to the lobby, and Yakoshiro was already waiting for her.
He took her to a nice Korean restaurant, and there were not many people yet, since it was a little early for lunch. They choose the table by the glass window. The place, decorated shabby chic, was cozy and relaxing.
"I have clients for you; I will let my secretary email the profile and contact information as soon as possible. Good potential and big," Yakoshiro told her.
"That's very good! Thank you, my friend." Charrie was pleased.
"How's your office here?" Yakoshiro asked.
"Got the contract signed. We will open in two weeks. Tanaka Group will do all the coordination and preparation." She told him.
"Great!" The contract would pave the way for more businesses, he figured.
They could hear some noise now as the men occupied the long table set-up they probably reserved. Their table was by Charrie's back, so she could only hear the waves of laughter and voices, but she couldn't see them.
Suddenly, she felt a little uncomfortable. A feeling that someone was gazing at her, so Charrie tried to scan her surroundings but could not find a hint. Instead, Charrie concentrated on speaking with YakoShiro, and they were laughing at a joke made by him when a man approached their table.
Yakoshiro was quick to notice him and greeted the man. "Hey! Hyan! What a good time to see you here!" both men shook hands. They know each other.
"Hi Yakoshiro, busy?" he asked.
"Oh, we are just having lunch. By the way, Hyan, I would like you to meet Charrie Gonzales," he introduced her to Hyan.
Charrie faced the man and got ready to greet him, but she heard him say, "I know her. Hi Charrie," he bowed.
She couldn't understand why there seemed to be some annoyance she felt coming from Hyan. His gaze was different, and Charrie did not even say a word but bowed instead.
"Oh, good!" tension unnoticed by Yakoshiro.
"I'll join the team; this is a quick lunch for us," he added.
"See you, Hyan," Yakoshiro said.
He glanced at Charrie and Yakoshiro, bowed, and already proceeded to their table.
Charrie felt uneasy throughout their lunch. Although she couldn't see the other table, there was a piercing gaze she could feel right at her back. She asked Yakoshiro if they could return to the hotel since her staff needed her confirmation on something. Yakoshiro agreed.
As soon as he got their check and paid it, they proceeded to the door. Yakoshiro just waved to Hyan while she chose to move immediately to the door without looking at him.
"Is he annoyed with me? Perhaps not, since I did not do anything. He might be tired from his tapping. Hah! Never mind. It's better if he won't pop-up in my life," Charrie told herself, dismissing the issue from her mind instantly.
Upon reaching the hotel, she proceeded to the set-up venue; after checking that it was going as planned, she decided to rest first in her room. She left her phone there earlier, and she will also review the messages.
The venue was in the mezzanine area. Charrie pressed the "up" button to get to her suite; she was stunned when the elevator door opened. She found Hyan with his bodyguards inside the elevator. As she thought if she would enter or not, then Hyan grabbed her wrist and pulled her gently inside and beside him. He did not say anything.
Charrie remained quiet, not knowing what to say or do. She heard the elevator signaling that it had reached her floor.
Hyan, still grabbing her wrist, leads the way to her suite.
He said, "Your keycard, please," she gave it to him, and he opened the door.
As soon as they entered, Hyan pinned her to the door. He was breathing deeply, and she could feel his tension.
He leveled himself to her and placed his forehead by hers. Charrie was still stunned, she didn't know what was going on, and she dared not talk.
He seemingly contains his anger as their breathing merge. Then Hyan looked at her in the eyes.
Then slowly, his lips touched hers; it was a gentle kiss despite his apparent rage. Then the kiss deepens. His one hand encircled Charrie's waist while the other was supporting her head.
The kiss was searching for a response, and the kiss got deeper and deeper, igniting a flame.
Charrie finds her legs slowly weakening, drawing support by holding Hyan's arms and neck as she responds to his kiss. Hyan sensed that he now had control, savoring the sweetness of her lips, and he was happy.
Caught unprepared, Charrie was bewildered. She melts in his arms!
After satisfying his longing, Hyan let loose Charrie's lips, but his face remained very near hers. Hyan's breathing started to even out, and he began to smile.
"Just as sweet as I imagined it to be," he embraced her after. He drew her close to him, and he was molding her body into his.
Confused, Charrie asked, "Hyan, what's going on?" still weak with the kiss they shared. She was holding Hyan's waist as her head was pressed to his chest, feeling his fast heartbeat.
"I just had a strong burst of jealousy," he admitted. His eyes were still closed.
"Jealousy? How come?" she asked. Why would he be jealous? Charrie thought.
"Been calling you, but you didn't respond, then I saw you having lunch with another man. I could struggle with Yakoshiro right then and there." Explained Hyan. He knew he did not have the right yet to question her, but he couldn't hold his temper.
"He is a good friend, and we are talking about business," absentmindedly Charrie explained.
"Foolish me, I know- missing you so much was my decent excuse. I never thought I was a jealous person until now. Good thing, I got the kiss I dreamed of" he was chuckling now to regain his composure somehow.
"Oh, it's not funny. I should be the one mad now!" She tried to push Hyan away, but he was too strong and won't let her go.
"Why will you be mad?" he asked as if he were innocent. Hyan knew she'd react this way, but he dared not allow her to be pissed with him a long time.
"First, you drag me here. Then you kissed me without asking if you could. I should be mad at you now. So get out!" Charrie's still struggling with her breathing as she speaks.
"I'm sorry, Charrie, I promise to be good; hence you reward me with another kiss?" he was toying now as he approached her lips once more for a kiss. He can't let her go.
Charrie managed to avoid his lips this time, and it landed on her hair. "No way! Mr. Wang Hyan!" she's afraid of her subsequent response to his advances. She responded to the kiss, and that troubled her.
Hyan let her go smiling waggishly. "Alright!" he laughed. "Why did you not answer my call?"
"Huh? As you can see, I left my phone here." She pointed at the table where her phone could be found. She picked up her phone and found ten missed calls from Hyan. Shaking her head, she glanced sharply at Hyan.
"You are persistent!" rolled her eyes, unable to contain her irritation.
"Only with someone significant!" he smiled sweetly. He was sure this lady would stay in his life for good.
Three soft knocks on the door interrupted their conversation, and Charrie opened it and saw the man smiling at her.
"Hi, Ms. Charrie. I am Dennis, Hyan's assistant," He introduced himself.
"Hi Dennis," she widely opened her door so that Hyan could see him.
"Hyan, it's time?" he gently told him. They need to go to another location for Hyan's final shooting day for the telco endorsement.
"Right! I will follow you in a moment!" there's a dramatic change in Hyan's mood, and Dennis could see it.
If Hyan did not cool down, the following schedule would be disastrous! Dennis was relieved! He was afraid of what he was scared of, and he suspects Hyan can be this intense when he cares for someone. He shook his head as he proceeded to the elevator and waited for Hyan.
"Honey, I will see you later," Hyan told Charrie.
"Honey?" shocked again, she asked. How can this man move so swiftly in her life and get away with it?
"Yes, Honey! As sweet as your kiss," Hyan bit his lips as he remembered the moment they just shared.
Charrie was blushing all the more as she saw Hyan's reaction. She admits it was indeed sweet.
Hyan embraced her and kissed her forehead.
He headed to the door and gave her one of his cutest smiles. They will talk later.
Left alone in her suite Charrie's head was spinning. Hyan never fails to knock her off guard. She must admit he was intense. The attraction was strong, and she knew she couldn't control it!
Did she go crazy? Did she fall for him?
