The Alpha, and His Kitsune Mate

Chapter 9

Rubeus led them to the backyard where the training ground was, and everyone stopped their sparring to look at the newcomers. "Attention, we now have three new pack members staying with us. They came from Shadow Den. Please be kind and make them feel welcome. They have been through enough." He motioned to the twins. "This is Kai and Koe. They will be joining the training from now on willingly. Who would be willing to spar with them first to test them?".

He noticed Alison first on the move running up to Kai, and Koe giving them both a hug with a soft sob. "You guys escaped! I was so worried about you!" He noticed that they had eagerly hugged her. Alison was a Kitsune that had come to their pack asking for help. He remembered when Andy brought her to him, and begged to let her stay. He would, of course, have let her stay regardless. "Where is Raven!? Did she come with you guys? Please tell me she's fine."

Kai and his brother eagerly hugged Alison back, and nodded at her. " She's a little bruised and battered, but fine. She is still sleeping in the suite. I am sure if Rubeus will allow it she would love for you to go see her. She missed you terribly Alison. We thought you were dead. We looked all over the pack for you, but we couldn't find a trace of you. They cleaned out your room, and threw away all your stuff."

Alison shook her head. "He tried to kill me, but I managed to escape. I ran for as long as I could. It hurt so much to leave there, but if I went back I knew he would kill me. This pack was the only place that didn't chase me off their border when I arrived. In fact, Beta Andy saved me from a rogue wolf who was trying to capture me for god knows what reasons. She brought me to Rubeus, and he accepted me here. I am so grateful to him and his pack. I even found my brother here."

Rubeus watched as Alison turned to look at him with a pleading look. He knew without a doubt what she wanted, and nodded. "Go see her Alison. Had I known she was the friend you missed I would have told you sooner." He watched her instantly run from the training ground chuckling, mindlinking her the code for the elevator, so she wouldn't have to ask for it. He was happy his mate would at least have a friend here now.

He smirked, looking back at all his pack. "Now, where were we? Right, Koe would you like to spar first?" He set him up with one of his warriors, around the same age and size as Koe. He watched him take him down within a minute, and tapping out. He waved over one of his top warriors that was twice his size. "On the count of three. One...two...three...".

He watched Koe take the warrior down within minutes with amazement. They clearly had been training for a long time. He had never seen someone so young, so skilled. He motioned for Kai to take his turn, setting him up with his Gamma Caleb right away, with the same result. He had hoped that this would be more of a challenge for him. He was certain they would be joining elite training.

He watched Caleb get ready in his position, once the count-down was done. He was surprised to see that Caleb held his own, but was eventually taken down, and tapped. He didn't see any anger at being defeated by someone so young. He seemed impressed more then anything. These twins clearly trained very hard, and were, like they said, top in their classes. He had no doubts that they would be beneficial to his pack.

Rubeus clapped when they were finished. "Well, you two are definitely skilled enough to be in Elite training should you choose. We would love to have you as warriors, and if you're willing to help train, we would appreciate it." He looked around as everyone swarmed around the twins, patting each of them on the shoulder, asking about their skills, and where they had learned. They were already fitting into his pack nicely, and he loved it.

He sighed with relief that the pack would welcome them with open arms. He had known that they would, but seeing it was just an added relief. "Training is over, let's all get cleaned up and meet at the packhouse for breakfast! Enjoy your day. Elite training is at four, just before dinner." He looked at the twins. " I hope to see you two there. I'd like to see how you hold up against Andy and myself."

Kai, and Koe both nodded in agreement with grins on their faces. " Happily, Alpha Rubeus! We can't wait to start joining the elite training, and even join patrols if possible. I know we haven't shifted yet, but we would love the challenge!" They are going to fit in nicely here. He just hoped his mate wouldn't have any problems either.

Rex purred in his mind. 'She'll be just fine with us by her side. We'll protect her easily. She'll just love me, I know it.'. He hoped his wolf was right, he didn't want to see any harm come to her. At least at the moment she was safe with Alison. He would have to try to keep an eye on her. He kept saying it was for her safety, but it was for his peace of mind.

Rex chuckled in his head. 'You just want any excuse to be close to our mate.' He rolled his eyes. 'And you don't? I swear you were drooling at just the sight of her.' His beast huffed at him. 'I am not embrassed I want our mate, and I'm not ashamed who hears it. She is perfect for us.' He swore his wolf tail was beating against his skull with happiness. 'Okay cut it out.' He pushed him to the back of his mind, shutting him out.

Perhaps he would go hunt down his mate and see if she was happy about Alison. He could hear his beast purring at seeing his mate, and he shook his head. He could never fully block out his wolf.
