Hidden

It took a while before the pain subsided, and she felt like she could talk properly again. Her eyes followed him the entire time as he took her hands away from him, and walked away. And now, they were closed and resting on the head of the couch, with a pillow couch supporting her head. It baffled her that she hadn't even been scared of him, even when he took her so close to his edge, even when his claws had shot out in the middle of the hold and began piercing through her skin. And now, she's worried about him. Why does he badly wants to know about what happened to her? Why does he keeps asking? She didn't expect him to tell her everything- or even anything. But, she wished there was a way to take away that look from his face. At first, she thought it was just an empty and void look, swirling into an endless darkness. But, she had began to notice more than that. Beyond that look, there was something hidden there, something trapped inside his eyes, something...that made her heart ache. After a little while, she decided to leave. She picked up her bag and stood up from the couch, ignoring the headache and dizziness that hit her a bit. "I'll be leaving now, I'll come and see you soon, again " she mumbled, in hopes he might hear her. It was almost nighttime when she walked out of the house, and there was someone strolling around the compound, hands behind his back, eyes looking straight forward. With a little more concentration, she figured it was the guest. Zach...Adrian had called him. She began wondering how he was related to Adrian, or how close they were. He didn't look her way the entire time she walked down the compound, till she was one step away from walking across the gate...and his voice came from behind her. " How Unnatural " She stopped for a brief second, then she faced him. That ' Much more worse enigmatic face than Adrian's' looked back at her, his red hair which had been tucked behind his ear dancing to the wind a bit, " Excuse me? " "It's unnatural, that's all " he said flatly, before he turned around and continued his stroll. Isabella watched him. She couldn't even think of anything to say back, his words didn't have much meaning to her...And yet there was something right there. She almost smiled at her jumbled up thoughts.. Too many things were going on these days. She already has so much to figure and think about. Just before the Chaffeur arrived back at the house with her, her phone vibrated in her bag indicating she has a new message. But, when she looked at the screen...Her eyes flew wide open and she almost dropped the phone in bewilderment. She had never imagined so many zeros in her life, now resting in her own account. She had just been paid half of the amount she had signed up for, just as agreed. Two hundred and fifty million dollars. She couldn't stop staring at the screen, till tears pooled up in her eyes. There was a great relief, but a greater pain followed suite. To cure her sister, she has to keep deceiving the man she loves. If only life was fairer to her, maybe... just maybe... She arrived back home, and headed straight for James room. Now that the money was here, she would still need his help. She knows no one, but she was sure James did. He should know a lot of heart doctors out there who are experts in their fields, to hook her up and move forward with Jess's surgery. " James?" She called out as she arrived by his door. She knocked and called out to him again, but there was no reply. After a few more knockings and calling out, she reached for the door knob and turned in. If he wasn't home, then his door should be locked up right? But, it turned right open, and she poked her head inside at first. "James, I'm back. Are you in here? " Silence followed. She wondered if he had left the house. Now that she thought about it, she recalled he was taking his mother to the airport, but that was long ago. He ought to be back by now except if he had other places to be, but the James she has known these past few days doesn't goes out much. He has always been home anytime she returned from meeting Adrian so he could know the details of what went on. She was about to close the door when something caught her attention. She saw a frame photo of herself sitting on his desk a little to the left in his room, but when she was a lot younger, she was putting on a pink outfit. Instinctively, she walked into the room and moved closer to the photo, till she picked it up. Then, she realized it was Alexa she was staring at... Alexa seemed to be putting on a pink horse racing outfit, and was standing beside a beautiful looking white horse, with a bright smile on her face. She must have started this hobby of hers since she was young. Once again, Bella was thrilled at just how much they looked alike even when they were young. The only difference...was the hair color. As she dropped back the photo to leave, it tipped over and fell back on the other side of the desk. Quickly, she walked to the other side and bent down to pick it up. She must have been reckless and too in a hurry to leave the room she hadn't been invited in because she ended up headbutting one of the arms of the table as she was about to pick it up. Of course it hurt a lot. "Ah! " She cried out, about to press on the spot when something unusual happened. A fraction of the arm of the chair she had smacked her head into suddenly came off, like a part of it's bark had been deeply cut into, and it fell right beside her. And what she saw hidden inside the hole...She had found something, something unexpected. She saw two things vertically hidden inside. There was a Dagger, and an Arrow. Both were completely golden in color, and there were little ancient writings engraved deeply on their bodies. Their edges looked very sharp, and they themselves made her wonder what they were, and why they were here. Hidden, with James. They looked so ancient and old, yet they shone like they had just been carved right now. She reached out to touch them, but her other hand shot out and grabbed the first one. What if they tipped and fell out of those spots? Quickly, she picked up the bark of the table that had fallen off and secured it back to where it had been before. She looked at the spot once more, and it was as if there was just a normal table arm standing there, there were no cracks, no sign at all that it was removable. Such a find. What was James doing with things like this? Does he even knows there are weird objects hidden in the arms of his table? Hurriedly, she kept the photo back where it belonged and left the room immediately. It wasn't so long after she left that a car horn came from outside, and in the next few minutes James was walking into the house. Bella met him at the parlor, a big smile plastered on her face. As usual, her smile made his heart skip a beat, "I take it you're seen the alert " "Yes I have. I never knew I could be so rich in the blink of an eye " " That's because you've been doing quite a good job" he smiled, stopping in front of her. " I actually have something to discuss with you, that is when you've rested and..." He quick took the couch and pulled her to sit beside him, "I'm listening, what is it? " "Do you know any heart surgeons? "She began. " I know many good doctors in that Field, but why would you want to meet...?" " I'm sorry I didn't tell you this earlier, but My little sister... " " Jessica?" She nodded, " Yes. She has ventricular septal defect. A hole in her heart" Now it made sense. He had known since from the start that she wasn't doing all this for herself. And now that he thought about it he realized whenever he made to stock up on food at the other house they lived in, she would mostly tell him to focus more on vegetables... And Foods that were extremely healthy for both Jess and her son. "OMG! Why didn't you say anything sooner? Why did you wait this long? I would have helped of course! " " I wanted to get paid first before I brought up the topic, I didn't want to bother you" " Your sister's life is at stake every passing second and you didn't want to bother me??!" She knows. She's been worried every second too! " I'm sorry, but can we go see some surgeons as soon as possible??" " I'll set up meetings with three of the Best I know. You'll come with me and choose which you're more comfortable with" Another huge smile spread across her lips, and happiness overflowed inside of her, "Oh thank you so much James." She placed her hand on his in utter gratefulness, and before she knew what was happening, he had pulled her into a hug. Too excited to notice the signs of how his hands trembled a bit on her back, or listen to the sound of his heartbeat coming from his chest which was grazing slightly on hers, she hugged him back. "You're welcome " he whispered. Once they pulled back from each other, she gave him one last smile before she walked off, leaving him on ponder on where these feelings of his were taking him to. They were growing too fast for him to control. That hug hadn't been intentional. He didn't even know he wanted to hug her, his hands just moved on their own. But, how many times does he has to keep reminding himself? She won't be around for long. She'll be gone soon. That cannot be helped. These feelings needed to casted far away, and if they can't then he just have to get himself a girlfriend and concentrate on her. As Isabella jogged happily into her room, the first thing she saw had the smile dissapearing from her face. It was that stupid bracelet Zayn had given her, just lying there on the floor. She would have thrown it away, but what if he comes back as asks for it? Then what? She tells him it's gone, then what? He would chop her up for dinner...or worse, expose her. She then decided to at least pick it up and place it somewhere else, but as she extended her arm just about to pick it up... It moved by itself.
