She’s What!...

It is just a short drive to the guesthouse we are stopping at and gives me just enough time to think on what the hell has just happened. I link Xander on my way back  

“You up man!” I ask

“Yeah, is our new Luna coming back with you?" Xander wanders into the kitchen to get himself a beer. 

"You want a drink?" he asks

“Yeah, I’m going to need one and no she isn’t, I'm about 2 min's away" I need to tell him everything. I slump down in the front seat of the SUV taking in the events. To say I am blown away would be an understatement.... Golden Wolf.... My mate is the f*****g Gold Wolf.... No wonder the Rouge bastard is after her and she is also an Alpha to boot. I wonder if that was her secret, the one her uncle warned me she had. The packs power has just increased 10-fold and our pups, Wow! They are going to be so strong. I knew there was going to be something special about my mate when I found her, but never could I have imagined her to be this special, I bet she is incredible with all her power's. Zach suddenly jumps in now he is finished acting like a lovesick puppy. 

"Once the secret is out, she will be a target from all other packs and their alpha’s wanting to claim her! We need to complete the Marking and mating tomorrow if we can just to keep her safe with us. Once she bares out Mark no other wolf can take her and Mark her by force.” He growls while speaking, I hastily responded to him. Growling back too.

“NO-ONE and I mean NO-ONE will take her from us, Do I make this clear? Therefore, the goddess gave her to us, the power of our pack can keep her safe, as well as our family being sworn to the goddess to protect her Gold Wolves. We can and will ensure the gold wolfs survival, as well as assisting in any fight or battle for them." I reminded Zach 

“Yes, I know, I couldn’t be happier with the goddess choice for her to be our mate!” He says, Happy with my response to what he said. I arrive at the guest house which is set 1/2 mile back from the main road. I gather my thoughts and walk in.

“Anyone here with you?” I asked Xander, Walking into the guest house. I take a seat and take a drink from the beer sat ready and waiting for me. 

“No man, why?” he answers. I am a little surprised as he would normally pick up any woman he could when we visit other packs. 'sampling the good' he calls it. 

“Coz I got to tell you something and it can go NO further. I mean NO ONE can know yet!" Xander looked at me a little puzzled.

"What the hell has happened, Man? You only went to meet the girl!" He say's obviously thinking the worst.  I pause for a few seconds before explaining.

"Jamie and I, we did the acceptance oaths." I start but he jumps in. 

"That's great man!" Xander chips in.

"I know, but right after we finished them, this golden rope appeared and tied us together with a gold infinity knot!" I show him my wrist, Xander grabs my arm to get a closer inspection of the golden tattoo.

"Jamie panicked and told me that we are eternally bound. If one of us dies, so does the other and the reason for this? Well! She’s the Gold Wolf!!” I explained to his puzzled looking face. 

"SHE'S WHAT!!" Xander exclaimed  

“HOLY s**t!!! That is amazing, aren’t we sworn to protect the golden wolf anyway?” He asked with a broad grin.

“Yeah, we are. She does not know that yet, and she is also completely untouched and pure. Well not completely untouched now!  But she was until me. She is mine completely, In every way imaginable.” I yank my arm back from Xander as he looks like he is drooling over it.

“Congrats man! You deserve this. So, any plans on how the hell we protect someone without it looking like we are protecting her?” Xander asked while still staring at my arm. Why he is staring, I do not Know but I will let it slide for now  

“Well s**t! I forgot about that. I haven't got a clue!" I go grab another beer and walk back to the chair, making a dozen plans in my head at the same time. It is in my nature to protect. Pack first is what I have always been taught. But now there is more risk than ever before.

 "I’ll just keep her by my side when out of the pack house, and if anyone attacks, we keep her with us. And keep 3 or 4 warriors to fight alongside her at all times ... Wait!" As I suddenly remember the remains of my warriors in the tournament earlier that day. 

"No, we let her choose them herself and they can be under her command at all times while we are out. It's the only way I can think of protecting her and still allowing her to fight!" But mine and Zach's instinct to protect the Luna start getting louder.  

"I’ll have to sleep on this one" I really need to be careful how I handle this. 1 wrong move and I risk her running from me. I get up to go to bed when suddenly my thoughts skipped to tomorrow. 

“We have a date set up for tomorrow at the waterfall. Keep everyone away from there, And I mean everyone... I’m hopefully going to mark her there and complete the mating that night" I said with a rising smirk to one side.

"She also agreed to come back here, with me, tomorrow." I say and hope he gets my hint for him not to be here. As I get near the top step, I shout back down to Xander

"And get Liam to dig through the archives for all info on the gold wolves of the past, she may want to go through stuff herself when we get back.” Not mentioning it has been years since I last looked over the information. I could do with brushing up on stuff to make sure I have the answers I am looking for. The next hour I spent going over my plans for this 'date' in my head. I have never felt Zach like this before, having never been with my true mate until tonight. I was lost for a while but eventually I drift off to sleep. I dream of images of my little kitten in my arm and what I want to do on our 1st time ... Her screaming my name echoing in my mind as the dream fades away with the alarm going off, Best get up and ready for breakfast...  Xander will set everything up while everyone was at breakfast. There was only 1 path to the waterfall, and I was having him rope it off … like them red ropes at opera houses, so we will be alone for the day and I cannot wait. I will see you soon baby! I think to myself as I get up to get dressed before setting off for the kitchen....
