Death's Case

"What would you like me to do?" I hesitantly asked.

He just remained silent, briefly pressing his thin lips together while a pale finger tapped at his chin.

"I want you to keep me company" He finally said.

Company?

I couldn't help but roll my eyes" you're Death, what do you need company for? Don't you have some souls to collect or something? I mean people die every second."

I immediately regret sassing up to Death.

He turned to face me with the darkest scrowl I'd ever seen, his eyes a frightening pitch black. Goosebumps rapidly erected on my skin.

I had never seen a look so sanguine.

"Do you want your life back? " his dark voice echoed dangerously, making me shrink.

Lowering my head, I muttered a barely audible "yes".

A deeply sinister chortle erupted from his lips as he turned away and flung the hood of his cloak over his head.

"Don't you ever question me again little girl. You seem to forget who you are talking to, I'm Death, the very last entity you'd want to anger sweet cheeks!"

Swallowing hard, I remained still and silent, foolishly waiting for him to vanish into thin air.

"Come."

"E-excuse me?" I stuttered.

Taking a steady hold of his scythe, one swift swipe was all it took to tear through the air, forming a dusky portal fitting of his girth and build.

"Come" He repeated, whisking his head to my direction and extending his hand for mine to hold.

Taking small calculated steps, my bottom lip quivered as I gazed at his abnormally blueish purple pale hand. It wasn't scaly, boney or repulsive, in fact, except for its corpsely, unhealthy hue, it looked exactly human. I still got jitters at the thought of touching it.

You'd think being dead would make me less fearful, it only sounds right, I'm already dead. What's the worst that could happen?

But nope! The devilishly sly, unpredictable Death scared the living (or is it dead) daylights out of me.

"W-where are we going? " I managed to ask.

Instead of giving me an answer, Death's frigid hand abruptly clutched at my own, hauling me closer.

"Don t waste my time, step into the portal sweet cheeks, some fun awaits us"

God help me!
