Maybe it was being back in my home country, but I felt myself in lighter spirits. My mate was here where she was supposed to be. Briefly, I recalled my previous decision to set her up here in this very penthouse. What a fool I’d been. There was no way I could leave Evelina here. Even if the dark witches hadn’t been after her, her place was by my side, running my pack with me. My mother had lived in this very penthouse once I’d become Alpha and I’d begun running the pack.
