How could this monster control the flow of magic?
In the interrogation room deep in the Authority, Hooper threatened her with a reciprocation field. Might this Eldric control some technologically created dampening device? If it was natural… Kennedy’s world was about to change.
Kennedy shook her head. The how and why didn’t matter. The black light she’d been able to cast hurt Eldric. She felt the pain in his scream. That was no ploy.
Since she had gained the rod of strange black glass, the flow of magic returned to her. Still weak, at least she could create the strange light overhead. With practice, she might master more spells.
A clatter reached her ears. She might not be alone. Strange sounds reached her from the void. Noises she couldn’t describe more than a screaking
