I looked up at Adrian. Should I tell him? Maybe he'd overreact. Well that doesn't mean I should hide it from him.
I'll tell him later.
He walked to the door and looked back at me. I rose a brow. Though I know he is telling me to follow him without speaking, I wouldn't do that.
He better open his mouth and tell me.
If he thinks his silent treatment will be okay with me then no. It's not! It was high time he started talking again.
I ain't moving from here until he tells me.
Tick tock . Tick tock .
Okay I give up! It has been ten full minutes and he isn't going to talk anytime soon. Like I care! Ha! He can do whatever he wants. I don't care. Clearly I don't.
Of course you don't.
Well that was not necessary. I huffed as I walked out, leaving his shirt on the floor. He better learn to do it himself. Just as I was exiting I saw the maid scurry in. Fishy! I peeped through the door to see her quickly hanging his shirt in his closet.
I had told her not to. I specifically told her not to pick up his shirt. Why did I even think she would listen to me.
They work for him after all.
I heard him clear his throat when he was at the top of the stairs and I looked up at him. He nodded towards the room and my breath got stuck my throat.
Oxygen! My lungs are way too demanding. They need oxygen supply from time to time and they don't know how to adjust. They won't give me a second to restore the oxygen level.
But they got to understand that Adrian is responsible and I'm trying my best to breathe here!
I slowly climbed up the stairs, one after the other. As slow as possible. I didn't want to go up there. I blinked several times as I thought I saw the stairs laughing.
The door winked! It winked at me. I gulped as I stood right in front of him. He had a small smirk playing at his lips as his hand rested on my lower back, guiding me into the room.
I breathed slowly, short deep breaths. That's my mantra to calm down.
"Why do you want me here?"
Lame. Totally lame. I couldn't come up with a better question. Or put this question in a better way?
He didn't speak. I dared to look at him. He had this expression that would make you want to smash your hand into the pizza dough. So that it wouldn't hurt you know.
His 'I already told you' look was sufficient to make me gulp again.
But he doesn't have to know that I'm nervous.
More like terrified.
Okay fine! Terrified! Yes, of him!
"You want me in your bed."
My voice was a whisper but he did not miss the disappointment that laced the words.
He made me face him. My lips felt dry, like the Sahara desert type of dry. I am not making the mistake of wetting my lips. I know he will take that as a sign of encouragement.
His eyes held a deep something I couldn't make out. It was like he desperately wanted to tell me something, yet he was holding back.
"Get on the bed."
I dreaded these very words. I know this is the end of innocent me. I was going to die!
I didn't know from where I gathered courage to shake my head.
He rose a brow.
Reminder : you were going to pull it off.
My brain isn't the best thing you see. It doesn't know what to say when. I blinked.
"I won't repeat, darling" he said, his voice low and commanding. So commanding.
"Understood?"
I nodded. I did understand that, very clearly indeed. He nodded towards the bed and I know I should get on it. But somebody tell that to my legs.
They aren't listening to me. I tried my best to move and nope! I just couldn't. Brain. I need you to coordinate right now.
All you had to do was ask.
Command to the legs: Go to the bed.
Lucky enough for me, I did end up on the bed. I sat on the edge of the bed, almost falling off but I managed just fine.
"Lay down."
I don't like where this is going. I am not going to do anything fishy he tells me after this. Though I did lay down, of sorts. His eyes. I don't like them sometimes.
It compelled me to lay down. He walked closer, unbuckling his belt. He did not have to do that! Remind him that he is shirtless already.
I shut my eyes, as tight as I could, when I felt him hover above me.
"Are you still.."
"A virgin? Yes."
I couldn't help but blurt it out. I wouldn't want him to know after s**t got out of control. I know I am insane but I thought I heard him laugh.
I pried my eyes open.
"Are you still.. cold?" he asked, laughter danced in his eyes. I looked down to find a blanket over me. Awkward.
Dirty mind! He wasn't even thinking about it. Ugh! I shut my eyes. I am so embarrassed right now. Kill me somebody!
Wait a minute. How did he know I was feeling cold?
"You still speak your mind out, without realizing that is" he chuckled.
He was already at the door. "You will sleep here. I'll have your bags sent up" and with that he walked out, giving me a good view of his back.
Still amazing!
I usually tend to think a lot when I'm laying down, staring at the roof and not feeling sleepy. The feeling was peaceful. Nobody to annoy you just yet.
I closed my eyes and as always I had to open them in an instant. The face. I didn't like it. Sophia.
My lip almost quivered at the thought of her. I sat up in bed as though I was electrocuted. That's exactly how I felt. Did Sophia know I was here, with Adrian?
She wouldn't like it one bit. I hope she won't find ways to trouble my family. I wouldn't be able to bear that. I have to immediately ask Adrian.
"Adrian?" I stepped out. Man this mansion was huge! The study was empty. I cannot delay having this conversation with him.
"Adrian" I called again, looking around. I got myself some discovering to do. I climbed the stairs, making note of the room I was in. I heard a faint noise above.
I didn't hesitate to follow the voice. "Adrian" I knocked, the door was slightly ajar but I could tell he was frustrated about something.
He immediately pushed his phone into his pocket and looked at me. I smiled as I entered.
"I was thinking we could have as conversation."
He looked at his watch hurriedly. He nodded shortly, motioning me to sit down. I shook my head politely.
"Are people aware that I'm here?" I asked. He had certainly mastered the art of hiding expressions.
"Who?" he asked.
"Sorry?" I frowned.
"Who are you referring to?" he asked.
As smart as ever.
"Your family."
"My mother?" he asked, irritated with me I suppose, at least the tone told me that. I nodded slightly.
"None of your business."
Before I could say anything he had me standing out of the room and banged the door shut.
Of course it concerns me. I really had to know.
"Adrian?" I knocked patiently, trying to ignore the fact that I was basically thrown out of his room.
"What?" his voice boomed, making me flinch.
"I was hoping you wouldn't tell her. I would lose the value she gives me."
That is the only thing I could come up with, which he would want to believe. And knowing Adrian, he will believe only what he wants to.
