DEATH'S SECRET LOVE

EPISODE FIVE *FORGOTTEN*

“I don’t think you will need new shoes” Copper informed her and raised her shoe in his hands, it was perfectly glued and fixed that one would pass it as new.

“Wow you are talented” she mouthed and moved closer to check it closely and gave a thumb up

“Mart will be here soon with some clothes for you to change into, I prepared breakfast, come have some while you wait” he poured out before moving past her back into the building.

“I don’t even know your name” she dropped out as she follows his lead to the dining area

“Copper” he replied and dragged a chair out for her and made sure she sat comfortably before he went to the counter to pick up his apron. He had prepared a toast and tea but didn’t prepare the egg, he wanted her to be up first. He quickly placed the frying pan on fire, break the egg and beat it while waiting for the oil to attain the perfect temperature before pouring them into the oil.

“Wow you can even cook” she exclaimed with her hands folder under her chin for support as she watch the fascinating view of him gently flip the egg to cook the other side. He brought the egg serving to the table and motioned for her to help herself. She picked up her fork and dipped it into the egg before dropping it slowly

“Is anything the problem?” He asked looking confused

“I just wonder why you are not joining in, by chance you didn’t put something into this while I was looking right?” She asked with a straight face

“I don’t know what you are getting at but I can bet your eyes were fixed on my body while I was cooking, there is no way you wouldn’t notice me slipping something into your food” Copper defended himself calmly and Cassy just gave a smile.

“You are cute” she remarked before mouthing the egg she waved on the fork.

“Wow this is so delicious” she spat out while closing her eyes to enjoy the savory taste.

She finished the bread, egg and tea on the table and kept rambling on how delicious everything was as she munches on them while Copper just sat at the edge looking at her.

Mart brought her cloth and she showered before changing into them and her shoe. She motioned for Copper to show her the way back, she doesn’t know anywhere in the town after all. He flagged down a cab for her and told the cab to drive her to the city where she belongs. She extended her hand to give Copper a shake after he had refused to take a penny from her no matter how much she explained it was for his service rendered.

“Hoping to see you soon Copper” she smiled as she shook his hand and gave out a very big smile before entering the cab and zoomed off. Copper was about to enter the workshop when he noticed that his bracelet was shining, she was his next mission!

She got home to see Becky waiting for her in front of the gate while walking up and down talking to someone over the phone. She swept her hand through her hair in frustration as she dropped the call and looked up to see Cassy walking through the gate. She quickly ran to her side and checked her from head to toe while turning her left and right to see if she was really fine.

“Stop with the fuss, I’m back in one piece” she lashed out and shakes Becky’s hand off her shoulder.

“Where went you yesterday? You were not with your phone and it rained heavily. Thank goodness I managed to slip some cash into your purse, this is why I told you to take some cash around. So where did you sleep? Hope you were not threatened or wounded in any way? Should I run a warm bath for you? What will you like to eat?” Becky rained down and Cassy stopped in her track as she was about to enter the mansion

“Becky can you please sew your mouth? That’s all I request for” she replied and Becky bit her lips into a mum

“I’m sorry my Lady” she bowed and Cassy find her way to the room. She dropped on her bed and gave out a sigh before she picked her phone to check the time, it was some minutes to 10:00 am. She ruminated through all that happened yesterday, the betrayal, the party and all but strangely she couldn’t remember what happened afterwards.

She tried hard to rack her brain, her heart was insisting that she missed something but her brain was not processing it. She stared blankly into the chandelier hanging in her room but nothing was coming to her head

“Was i dreaming?” She questioned her sanity but who was she kidding? She knew she is fully awake and in reality.

Copper was busy stroking his bracelet at the corner of the workshop when Hades came in a red suit and a gentle monster sunglass to accompany his hot look. He whistled with his hands in his pocket as he strolled into the workshop to brag about his new baby to copper.

“Hey buddy, I brought my baby to say hi” he smirked as he pressed the car control button and the lights flashed in display

“She’s gorgeous right?” He tilts his head to show it off but Copper was not paying him attention

“Seeing how you are stroking your bracelet I guess you’ve met whom you are assigned to” Hades sighed before taking his seat next to him

“But why so serious?” Hades asked nudging his shoulder a little

“Uhn? Nothing, I’m just taking a look” he defended himself but hades was not convinced even though he decided not to push more, there are boundaries after all.

“Why are you looking down when you found her though?” Hades pressed further, he could not resist the urge to ask

“She slept over here yesterday before I found out she was the one” Copper replied raising his head

“What? What the h…?” Hades blurt out halfway before sealing his lips

“How come?”

“She came in to fix her shoe late at night and I sensed she was a stranger so I told to stay over for the night, she might lose her way” he explained

“Well that’s not bad but did you erase her memory though?” He asked with all attention on Copper waiting for his answer

“Am I mad? Why would I forget that?” He replied and Hades heaved a sigh.

“What are you up to?” Copper asked and went towards the door to see Hade’s new car, “I wonder how long this will last” he added with a smirk and Hades jumped in defense

“I’m going to give her the outermost care” he snapped and Copper just sniffled a laugh before going back to his work.

“Where are you going to? You have to rest and recover, you are still burning up” Becky nagged as Cassy showed up in the sitting room with a pink suit and white inner accompanied with a bag and packed her hair straight.

“What do you mean where? To the office of course” she replied heading for the door while Becky signaled to the maids never to let her pass

“Are you out of your mind? You dare to block my way?” She screamed at them but none flinched

“Taking care of your health is also what we get paid for, please rest a few days before going back to work” one of them responded and gave a slight bow

“Are these people kidding me this morning?” She gritted between her teeth and raised her voice to scream at them but she slumped to the ground while everyone rushed to check her.

She slept soundly on the big bed laid neat with a floral patterned sheet receiving her drip. It was the third bag and her temperature was getting back to normal. She turned, opened her eyes and it was met with a white figure, she tried to see clearly but all she saw was an halo and it was blinding, she sighed and shut her eyes before resuming her sleep.

She woke up and looked around to see if anyone was in the room with her but after checking around she gave long hiss

“I must have been dreaming” she muttered and tried to get off only for her to feel a tug, it was the fluid rope pulling her back. She placed a pillow by the headboard and rested her back on it to gather her strength when Becky came in

“How are you feeling my lady?” she asked coming closer to check her forehead with her palm.

“Fine as you can see” Cassy said and pointed to the fluid line, please get rid of this she said closing her eyes

“You can’t, you will have to finish” that Ben replied from behind the door. Ben is one of her father’s trusted men and has done a good job taking care of her as the family doctor as she grew up

“But Ben…” she protested

“Trust me, it will be over soon” he cuts in and moved closer to check her up

“You are fine now, you just need absolute rest for few days and you will be fine” he finalized before taking his leave.

Three days later

Cassy entered the wine cellar dancing to Aya by the girl group Mamamoo and displayed the dance move as she moved in further with her shower robe around her body. She trailed her hand along the shelves as she tries to choose a red wine for her soak bath.

She stopped at the front of the Brachhetto d’Acqui sitting on the shelf and gave a wide smile

“Come over baby” she grinned as she grabbed the bottle by the neck and turned to take a tumbler before yelling “Happy Ending”, a part of the song she was listening to and headed for the bathroom only for her to stop after her eyes landed on something.

“What is this?” She muttered and dropped the wine on the shelf before holding her head tight in pain.
