23 Day 38, Saturday, September 27 Saturday morning feast for the family: Omelets with mushrooms, onion, green pepper, tomatoes, a little basil, a little oregano. Potatoes and onions sautéed in just water—that actually works. Fresh-squeezed orange juice. Homemade bread with honey. Everyone sufficiently bloated. Amanda showed up a little before ten. “Nice tie, Petey,” she said, giving it a tug. It’s Peter’s and my compromise—whenever he’s my waiter he can wear a T-shirt and shorts as long as they’re clean, but he also has to wear a tie.
