Dustin goes and gets ready in the bedroom. He can hear Ronan on his cell phone in the other room, but he finishes before Dustin comes back. They shut down things like laptops, turn off most of the lights, and head out to the closest restaurant. They get seated at a small table in a corner, with candlelight, and Dustin knows they’re monster hunting, but he can’t help enjoying the romance of the moment.
Ronan tells him Rick will be there the next day, and Dustin makes a decision. He wants to tell Ronan how he feels, but that’ll be harder to do with Rick around, even though he’s not going to be staying with them, since they only have one bedroom. Dustin tries to think how to do it, when to do it, and by the time their shared dessert of chocolate cake is served, Dustin’s a ball of nerves.
