Chapter 7

(Madison POV)
Two weeks have passed by and my father was getting much better. I was happy since I met Dr. Isaac. Ever since the problem with his friend, he made sure he always has lunch with me.
We talk about many and any things. He makes me happy.
Am I falling in love with him? Yes, probably.
Will I tell him? No, probably not.
Why? I am scared. What if he doesn't feel the same way?
"You know you have been staring at that page for half an hour" Papa's voice rose making me snap out of my internal debate.
"Oh. You're awake?" I said shocked as I stood up.
There was only me and dad in the room. Others went back home. My sister's wedding is in a month and nothing was arranged.
"Yes. Awake long enough to see you staring at the page" he said as I laughed and hand him a cup of water.
"How are you feeling?" I asked as he drank the water.
"Much much better," he said as I smile.
"That's great. I will go but you lunch" I said as he nodded.
"You are eating with Dr. Isaac today?" he asked as I blushed and shook my head.
"Umm no. He is on leave today" I said as he laughed.
"We all know you like him." He said as I rolled my eyes and walked to the door.
"I will go get lunch," I said before making my way to the cafeteria.
After lunch, Doctor Margaret came for a check up. She had a knowing smile on her face, the one she has been bearing ever since Dr. Isaac introduces her to me.
She was very friendly and she would always try to make me call her Margaret.
"He had a family meeting so I am taking his place," she said as I nod my head.
A few days ago, Dr. Isaac introduces me to another woman name, Astrid. He said she was his younger brother's love. I was confused when he said younger brother because the news of Elliot Moore's death was all around famous.
But then he cleared me saying it is actually his cousin brother.
She was here for some days but then disappeared. Ever since then, Dr. Isaac has been on and off duty. He always texts me though. He said he had family matters to settle.
After Doctor checked on my dad and the nurse gave him a sedative, I decided to take a walk in the nearby park.
I took a deep breath as I entered the garden park. It was beautiful but also fully packed.
My phone rang and I took it out of my hoodie pocket and sighed.
"Hey Will," I said as he replied.
"When do you think your dad will be discharged? We got the lead on the smugglers" he said excitedly.
"Maybe a week or two. I have asked for an extension of leave and they approved as long as I also do offline work. Just sent the work to my mail and I will check it out" I said as he hummed.
"Alright. Come home soon! We all miss you" he said before hanging up.
I sighed and looked up. I have been ignoring my job because of my dad. Honestly, I needed a break too. The work is so damn frustrating.
I am a local police officer in Texas. Detective section to be exact. I manage the area of smugglers and Illegal d**g dealing.
Pretty hectic I may add. Especially when I am the leader commander. But I love the job nevertheless. It is my dream job and I couldn't be happier. Besides I could use my fighting skills in them.
I walked down the path and reached a small stream.
"Damn this is a beauty," I said as I started taking photos of the beautiful scenery. I sat on the grass and started taking more pictures and selfies.
"Madison. What a surprise" a familiar voice came as I looked behind.
"Doctor?!" I said shocked.
"Hello," he said as he came and sat next to me.
"I thought you were on leave," I said as he nodded.
"Yes on leave," he said as he raised his hand showing his attire.
Unlike his work clothes which always consist of a shirt, pants, and doctor coat, today he was wearing a turtle next drown sweater and dark blue jeans. He had a cream jacket which was till his knees.
I got to admit he looked like a runway model in it.
"What?" he asked as I stared at him.
"You look like a model," I said before my eyes widen.
"s**t! I mean. You look good" I corrected as he gave a beautiful loud laugh.
"Thank you," he said as I blushed and looked down at my phone.
"You were taking photos?" he asked as I nod.
'Can I take one with you?" I asked scratching the back on my neck nervously.
"I don't see why not," he said as I looked at him wide eyes. A smile formed on my face as I nod and raised the mobile. But unfortunately, my small arm prevented me from getting the both of us.
"Let me," he said as he took my phone and raised it to his side. We took a few amazing photos which I know was going into my precious memory wall.
"Don't forget to send me" he said as he nodded.
"So family matter over?" I asked as he rolled his eyes and lay down on the grass.
"Family drama is just too much," he said as I laugh and nod.
"Yea it is," I said as I turned and looked at him.
His eyes were closed and I gulp before turning around. He was so beautiful and enchanting. My heart was beating more and more fast.
I put my hand on my chest and looked at the river.
I want to tell him how I feel but what if he rejects me?
He is so rich and handsome. He is bound to have girls more prettier than me swoon around him. I don't even know if I will see him after my papa is discharged.
Hell, I don't even know if he has a girlfriend. His private life is well.... private. No social media or any cover even if he is one of the most outstanding doctors and the only inheritor of the Moore Cooperation.
"Hey," he said as snapping me out of my thought. He was now sitting straight staring at me.
"I didn't have any lunch, shall we go to some coffee shop?" he asked as I stared at him.
Coffee with him?
My heart was beating fast and felt overjoyed.
"Sure. I would like a coffee for myself as well" I said as he nodded and stood up.
"Great," he said as he extended his hand. As I grabbed his hand, he pulled me up before dusting the grass of his dress.
