Chapter 9 I Will Protect Her

1350 Words
As if being struck by thunder, Tina said in disbelief, "How is it possible? You are lying!" Mr. Reid sneered, "I'm not lying. I would not have signed the contract if he hadn't said you could sleep with me for one night. Be obedient and go home with me!" Then, he grabbed her hand. Tina was unwilling, so she struggled desperately and stepped on his foot when he was unprepared. When he let go of her while crying in pain, she took the opportunity and ran out. "Stop! You can't escape!" Mr. Reid limped out and ordered his two subordinates to catch her. Tina had drunk too much wine, so she felt weak in her legs now, but she still spared no effort to run through sheer dogged determination. However, her speed was not very fast. Seeing the people behind her getting closer and closer, she looked at the white door in front and ran desperately. "Stop!" One person behind her shouted and stretched to grab her. She slammed the glass door, knocked him hard, and staggered to the road. Watching the busy traffic flow, she thought she needed to hail a taxi. But before any taxi came, Mr. Reid's people had already run out of the hotel and rushed toward her. Seeing a car running over, Tina closed her eyes, bit the bullet, and stretched out her arm to stop it. With a harsh braking sound, the car stopped. Her heart was racing when she slowly opened her eyes, and then she found that the car was only a few centimeters away from her. It had almost hit her! Later, a man pushed the car door open and got out. He was wearing a navy-blue suit, and his hair was meticulously combed. He was tall and slender, and his facial features were well-defined and extremely pretty. And his fair skin was shining in the golden sunlight. Seeing her, the man was stunned for a moment, then walked over and asked, "Are you doing this to blackmail me?" He was the man she had met at the hotel yesterday! Tina's heart uncontrollably skipped a beat. What a small world! She didn't know what to say. In fact, her head was buzzy, so she hadn't heard what he had said. Therefore, she stared at him quietly with her watery eyes as if she were an i***t. Her stare made Samuel's hair stand on end. He wondered why she was looking at him like that. Did he look like a banknote? "Good! You finally gave up escaping! Hurry back with us! Mr. Reid is waiting!" Seeing her stop running, one of Mr. Reid's subordinates stretched out his hand to grab her. Samuel stepped forward with his long legs, stood in front of Tina, knocked off the man's hand, and said with a cold look in his eyes, "She is behind me now. No one can hurt the person I want to protect!" D*mn it! How could he say such arrogant lines? A short man raised his head and said rudely, "Back off, you bastard! Do you know whose woman she is? She belongs to Mr. Reid of the Kingshill Group! If you don't want to die, get out of my way right now!" Victor's heart skipped a beat, and thought this man was courting death. He should not have said such words to Mr. Langford. Now, he was screwed. He walked over, "Watch your mouth! Do you know who you are speaking to? Even Mr. Reid of the Kingshill Group must humble himself when talking to Mr. Langford! How dare you..." Samuel raised his hand to stop him, stared at the short man with cold eyes, and said, "You'll regret saying that soon." He was outstanding in appearance and had a noble vibe, looking aggressive and dignified. The short man had wanted to scold him, but after seeing his demeanor, he felt so scared that he could not utter a single word anymore. At this time, Mr. Reid finally limped out of the hotel. Seeing that they hadn't caught Tina, he couldn't help flying into a rage and scolded, "Why are you standing here? Where is she?" After he slapped one subordinate hard on the head, the latter turned to look at Samuel, so Mr. Reid also turned his head over impatiently. But when he saw Samuel's face, his face turned pale. His subordinates did not know Samuel, but he did. After all, he had seen him at the group's annual meeting. He shivered and stammered flatteringly, "Mr. Langford, what brought you here? Please don't hesitate to tell me if there is anything I can do for you." Samuel smiled coldly with murderous intentions in his eyes, "I don't dare to ask you to do anything for me. After all, your subordinates asked me to get out of their way just now." What? Mr. Reid broke out in a cold sweat, clenched his fists, hit the secretary next to him, and scolded, "Are you blind? Can't you even recognize Mr. Langford? Are you courting death? I will beat you to death!" Because Samuel was watching, Mr. Reid didn't dare to pull his punches. After a while, the secretary's face was beaten black and blue, and he hurriedly begged for mercy, saying, "Mr. Langford, I was wrong. I should not have said those words to you. Could you please forgive me?" Heating his words, Samuel felt annoyed, so he frowned, "Enough! I'm not interested in watching you act. Mr. Reid, does the woman behind me have anything to do with you?" Mr. Reid glanced at Tina and began to speculate about their relationship, guessing Mr. Langford had also taken a fancy to her. So, he replied, "No, I have nothing to do with her at all. Please believe me because I'm telling the truth." No one in Bradon dared to compete with Samuel for a woman. Moreover, Mr. Reid was an employee of the Langford Group, so he would not court death. Samuel smiled with an extremely cold look and said, "But your secretary said she is your woman just now." Mr. Reid immediately turned around and slapped his secretary. And when he turned his head back to face Samuel, he said with a flattering expression, "Mr. Langford, he was talking nonsense! I really have nothing to do with her. It's her shameless boyfriend that shoved her to me. I felt pity for her and intended to send her home just now." "Really?" When he parted his thin lips and spat out the word, it sounded extremely cold and frightening. Mr. Reid's face turned paler, and he dared not to confess his filthy thoughts. Coward! Samuel didn't bother to spare one more look at him and said coldly, "Victor, let's go." Victor responded, "Yes, Mr. Langford." Before leaving, he looked at Mr. Reid and said, "You and your secretary are fired!" "Mr. Langford, I didn't mean it! Could you please give me a chance?" Mr. Reid begged behind the car, but it soon ran away! Tina sat in the back seat, confused and half-asleep. Victor asked, "Mr. Langford, shall we send her to the hospital?" Samuel sat close to the car door in the back seat, keeping a long distance from her. Hearing the question, he replied with an impatient expression, "No need. She is just drunk. Let's go home." Victor laughed, "Okay! You finally bring a woman home! Madam will be very happy if she knows about it." As soon as he finished speaking, he noticed he was glared at by Samuel's sharp and aggressive eyes from behind. Then, Samuel snapped, "Mind your own business!" His voice sent shivers down Victor's spine, so he made a zipping motion in front of his mouth, indicating that he would never speak again. Samuel glanced at the sleeping woman next to him and felt a surge of annoyance, so he silently took out his notebook to continue his work. Suddenly, he felt itchy in his arm. When he abruptly raised his head, he saw a face approaching him. Why is she grinning at him?
