Aria occupied herself back with her work. She flashed toothy smiles as she neared the tables with the orders, "Enjoy your order, ma'am." with a flicker of her eyes in acknowledgement.
She had long forgotten that she had encountered a scenario where she had almost lost her first kiss as well as the job. However, now the way she greeted her customers it does not look like she was even bothered a minute ago.
She worked zealously, accepted whatever tip she received for her kindness and strode back to the counter in order to deliver the orders that were waiting to be dispatched.
"You are too lucky, b***h! I heard the alpha's son barely helps anyone or takes any action against anyone, but he did for you. What exactly did you do in the morning before starting your day? Tell me too, I need the same luck. It has been a long time since I last laid with an upper class hot wolf." her twenty two years old, kinky and curvy coworker uttered as she leaned on the counter, her eyes looking in the direction of table no. 5 while Jake, the alpha's son, shared the table with the bullies.
Aria followed her gaze, she affixed her eyes on his figure and worried her lower lip between her teeth. Indeed, this guy resembled a hot model from your typical magazine with glossy pages. He had a strong well-built body you would love to drool for, thick charcoal hair always cascading his forehead and a killer smile. His ember irises had an undefining glint alongside a sharp gaze which could set anyone's heart on fire.
She closely and quietly engulfed his features, so deeply and silently that when he swung his head to the direction of the counter and looked at her watching at him only, Aria could not withdraw her gaze away and eventually was caught by him.
His left brow disappeared under the shadow of his charcoal hair tendrils covering his head as Jake gave her a smirk with a suspicious look. It was so bounding and unnerving that it set her heart at unease with trembling hard palpitations. Aria cut her eyes away while turning around quickly to face Jennifer.
She had often encountered such gazes, his was different. Different from all. Maybe because it was not associated with lust or an urgency to drag her into bed! But a friendly selfless gaze you would see any kind and humble and perfect guy give. His depicted concern. Everything but lust or negative intentions.
"He isn't looking here any more, stop acting like he kissed you already huh." She was not good with reading through people's expression, Jennifer's words anyways conveyed she was jealous. "That would rarely happen... In your nightmares, bam! Don't trust such guys, they are good at impressing and dropping."
Aria flickers her eyelids. This woman threw venom from her mouth every time she unlatched it. But her words, they meant something.
"Impressing and dropping?" this was a phrase perhaps, because Aria never heard of it.
Realizing that she was unable to comprehend the meaning of her words, Jennifer shook her head side ways. Her eyes expressed her annoyance while their wideness justified her distress she always senses around naive Aria.
This girl was too good to be real. She was oblivious all the time. Naive all the time. Nervous and scared… almost all the time.
What could you expect from a human?
Yeah, a human.
She was a human born to a strong fighter wolf. A disguised curse for a strong wolf.
"They will impress you with such looks and smiles, and when you have warmed their beds and coated their shafts with your virgin blood, they would drop you like rubbish into a trashcan." A shiver of fright crawled in her back as Aria watched her mouth.
Jennifer was fierce and straight forward plus outspoken. Nope, she did not dare to speak such words because she was fierce but because she also belonged to the upper class. Her father was a minister in the alpha's pack and mother, a best friend to Luna, that gave her bravery and that tongue. Otherwise, wolves from lower class would not risk their lives, would they?
"You better stay away from such bastards, little whore." without passing a reply, Aria grabbed the tray that was just filled and tossed on the counter, and turned to leave.
She had to pass through table no. 5, where Jake sat with the bullies. And in order to avoid any eye lock with him, that was less likely to happen as he seemed busy with these guys, Aria hurried as she walked past them with her heart beating like an alarm under a dangerous situation.
Once she completed her task, she wittingly stole a quick glance of his face, 'As if I am something he would be interested in!" and wondered with Jennifer's words moving around in her mind.

With the never fading smile on his appealing mouth, Jake exited the restaurant. His arm lingered around Neil's shoulders, eyes gleaming golden under the blazing sun.
"Dude, she is a foolish chick. You can easily have her if you want to. Why doing this s**t?" Neil c****d his brow at his alpha friend, his lips giving him a grin which spoke of his doubts.
Jake answered him with a wink as if words were limited.
"Come on, bro... What the heck is wrong with you!" Neil exclaimed, he jerked away Jake's hand as his dark glares met with his smiling facade.
"Nothing." Jake replied, no expressions on his face but a smile.
"Then why do you visit her restaurant daily and make us bother her?" There was frustration, pure frustration ringing in each word of Neil.
"Dude, I'm telling you he is in love with her." Dilane who was joking around with his other friends joined Blake and Neil.
His remark made no difference in Jake's expression. Not even a little bit. But that smile, that smile widening on his mouth depicted something.
"Yuck! Why her? She's not even a wolf. She is a bloody human, Jake. You can find yourself a stronger and more beautiful mate than her. She's even ugly!"
"I don't know what makes you think like that... But I only asked you to bother her today for a cause. Had I ever asked it before?" Jake uttered in self defense.
True, he deserved better than Aria, yet it was not her he was interested in.
His interest flickered between a duty and a deadly situation. Something he was unwilling to do yet for the sake of some inevitable causes, he had to.
"Why today though? Why today when you never did it before? It only shows you have a thing for her." Kai jumped on his back, curling his legs around Jake's waist like a baby monkey does to its father.
They chuckled having fun in the midst of a serious discussion. Jake, on that matter, deliberately tended himself toward the ground so as to hurt Kai and laughed. His laugh resonating in the thin air, the only sound audible then.
"I will tell you guys when it is time." he announced, once and for all, ending the conversation right then and there before they hopped into Kai's Mercedes and left.
What was his intention for bothering Aria through his friends?
Irrespective of what it was, many lives were going to flicker upside down, hearts break and trust turn to ashes.
