Chapter 7

1146 Words

Chapter 7 It’s colder outside than Jai thought. Yeah, he saw the temperature on his weather app, but he doesn’t actually know what nine degrees feels like until he steps outside in a pair of jeans and a thin leather jacket. There’s a biting wind that somehow cuts right through his clothing and tickles along his ribs, how is that even possible? And despite his morning moisturizing routine, his face feels like a crocodile’s hide, his lips hurt, his cheeks are raw, and even his hands, tucked into his pockets, feel brittle and achy. He hunkers into himself and walks as quickly as he dares, trying not to step on anything shiny, sure he’ll slip on an icy patch of sidewalk or grass and slide flat on his ass. Then the rest of him will hurt, too. God, this weather sucks! Why’s he stay here anyway
