Chapter 6

551 Words

Chapter 6 Early the next morning, Jai scrolls through the search listings on his phone as he sips his first cup of coffee. He’s glad Kiki got him a Keurig machine for Christmas, because his weather app says it’s a sparkling nine degrees outside and he doesn’t even want to think about getting dressed for that kind of weather just yet. Sure, there’s a Starbucks two blocks away, but nine degrees? That’s insane! He hopes it warms up before he has to head into the salon or he’ll be bundled up like a tramp for his short walk to work. Blossom isn’t far from Jai’s condo—the fifteen minute walk is invigorating most days, but if he’d known it was supposed to be well below freezing this morning, he wouldn’t have switched shifts with Kiki. Still, the good news is the salon won’t be open until later.
