Chapter 3 Fresh out of work, Jai and Kiki spent a few days bemoaning their bad luck. They never received their final paychecks; the owners of the salon owed too much money to too many people, and the employees were just s**t out of luck. Jai drew unemployment benefits for a while, but he found it hard to get another job at a high-end salon when his previous employer was unavailable as a reference.
