{Mia’s POV}
Here I was once again being dragged about like a rag doll by my friends as they try to cheer me up. It’s sweet, really it is, but they should know by now. It’s hard for me to just feel up for this, my husband.. ex husband cheated. Now they keep trying to get me to come out with them, drink, party, maybe find a rebound. The only issue with that being that I’m not sure I’m ready. It’s been almost a year since I walked in on him in our bed with that woman, but time hasn’t changed anything. I’m still broken up inside from having to deal with the betrayal.
“Come on Mia, you need to have fun sometime! You can’t just be an old maid!” Riley teased. Her long legs accented by her very short skirt. She was tall, right around 5’10, her hair was about shoulder length, and was a mousy brown color. She had just turned 23, the oldest of all of us. She was tall, and skinny, she had slight curves making her look womanly. Her eyes were a deep brown color, and her smile was lit up with bright red lipstick.
“Yeah honey, it’s time to let loose, have a little fun. It’s nearly been a year, your divorce has been finalized for eight months now!” Samantha chimed in. Samantha was also tall, around 5’8, her light blonde hair cut into a pixie style. Her eyes were a deep blue, and she was much more curvy than Riley.
They were basically dragging me into the club at this point, meanwhile I was attempting to deadweight so they couldn’t move me. Not that that would work, both of them were bigger and stronger than I was. I knew that dragging was a courtesy and if they couldn’t drag me one of them would just pack me in. I sighed finally giving up on resisting and deciding to walk the rest of the way in. “Fine! I’ll go, I’ll drink, I’ll dance, then I’m leaving!” I said in an annoyed tone. I know they just want me to have fun again, but it’s hard after someone you completely trusted, breaks you. I looked down at my reflection in a puddle on the sidewalk. I have to admit I looked pretty, even though I still don’t look happy. My dark brown hair laid curly down my back, reaching my butt. Riley did my makeup, applying just enough of a Smokey eye to make my sage green eyes pop. Samantha picked out a beautiful, short, tight black dress. It hugged all of my curves perfectly. I was the curviest of my friends, along with the shortest, being only 5’0. My thighs were thick, along with large breasts, and a round behind, my waist looked so tiny in comparison. I looked unrealistic in a good way, but I knew the moment I got home it would be back to oversized hoodies, and sweatpants.
We arrived at the entrance to the club and waited in line for a few minutes until someone that Sam knew walked past us. They called us over, “Sammie!” He smiled, his eyes a dark brown, and his hair sandy brown and shaggy, “They’re with me!” He said to the bouncer who then opened the rope allowing us to walk in behind the man.
“Good thing we ran into you Josh, otherwise we’d be out there all night!” Sam exclaimed. She smiled widely and greeted the man with a hug.
Sam was always so friendly, she could make friends with a rabid bear. It was one of the traits that drew me to her in the first place. We had all known each other since high school freshman year. Sadly only a year after that was when I met Danny, my ex husband. We were “high school sweethearts”, if that’s what you want to call it. Honestly now it just feels like everything we had was one big lie.
“So good to see you again, we’ll have to catch up later but right now I’m supposed to be having drinks with one of our owners, so I’ll see you later!” Said the man before he quickly walked away.
“Who was that?” Riley asked.
“Just a friend from college, he actually owns the club here, well at least part of it.” She smiled in a dumbstruck kind of way. “Enough about him though!” She said, physically shaking her head. “Let’s get some drinks, this is a girls night! Tonight we’re going to celebrate our friendship!” She cheered leading us to the bar. “Three shots of straight vodka, and three tequila sunrises please!” She said sliding her bank card onto the bar. “Open up a tab for me and my friends please!” She cheered.
We all showed the bartender our id’s then soon were served our drinks. “Chasing a strong drink like vodka with more alcohol seems like a bad idea!” I practically yelled, trying to be heard over the music and the crowd.
“Come on! Don’t be such a wimp!” Riley laughed doing her shot then sipping on her tequila sunrise.
They knew just how to get to me, I hated being called a wimp, now they’ve gotten me riled up. I let out a slight chuckle then threw back my shot of vodka, then downed my other drink. I clinked my glasses down on the counter and looked to the bartender. “Another round for me and my friends!” I giggled.
He slid the drinks to us after a few moments, and I picked them up immediately downing both of them. “Okay, slow down a little Mia, you don’t want to overdo it!” Sam said, a look of concern painted on her face.
“If the past year hasn’t destroyed my liver yet, tonight surly won’t either!” I said, a slight giggle in my voice. “Two shots of fireball please!” I said setting my glasses back down. After a few moments he passed two shot glasses filled with fireball were in front of me. I picked them both up downing one, then the other. I sat them both down with a slight clink, shaking my head, and looking to my friends. “Alright, now I’m buzzed!” I giggled.
They both looked back and fourth at each other with a nervous look painted on each of their faces. “Are you sure you’re just buzzed?” Riley asked.
“If there is one thing I’m good at, it’s holding my liquor, now come on!” I cheered grabbing Sam’s hand, she quickly grasped onto Riley’s hand and soon I had dragged them onto the dance floor. For the first time in nearly a year, I felt normal again. I danced with my friends, all of us gaining attention of random men in the bar. Soon a few men came and began dancing with us. Sam and Riley grinding against the men they were dancing with. Soon the man who was dancing with me moved to my side, then behind me grabbing my hips, and lowering himself so his pelvis was even with mine. I danced with him, feeling as though I was being watched. I shook it off for a while, but the feeling kept growing stronger and stronger. I felt weird so I decided to go sit down, as I went to leave my spot on the dance floor the man I was dancing with grabbed my hips roughly pulling me back against him, my back hitting his chest with a loud thud, almost knocking my breath out.
“Im going to go sit down!” I said trying to move again.
He pulled me back against his chest. “You’re not going anywhere, I’m not done with you yet!” He sneered.
“No! I don’t want to!” I yelled pulling away. He grabbed my arms roughly and pulled my chest to his.
“I said you’re not going anywhere!” He snapped in my ear. His hands tightening around my arms, his finger tips digging into my skin.
I began feeling more and more afraid, and in pain. “Let me go!” I yelled slamming my hands on his chest, I closed my eyes banging on his chest.
Suddenly he fell to the ground in front of me, and his nose was broken and bleeding. The quick movement causing me to fall back hitting something solid. “She said no!” A deep guttural voice came from behind me. I looked up to see a mountain of a man behind me. He had to be at least 6’5, or 6’6. His hair was dark brown, longer on top, and shaved on the sides. He had a well trimmed beard, and his eyes glistened an icy blue. Right now he looked as though he could kill. My back against him had tingles that spread across it everywhere our skin touched. This man was beautiful, amazing, massive! I’d never seen such a man, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted him to move, our skin touching was the only thing keeping me grounded.
