Her breaths were shortened yet she didn't stop moving and complained to Kier to let her go. “Will you shut your f*cking mouth, Lisa?” Kier annoyingly smashed his hands in his seat. “You're lucky that I promised him, I won’t hurt you.” he whispered and stood up from his seat. He walked slowly towards Lisa, with a grin forming in his lips. “You made me exhausted these past few days,” he paused and lowered his body to level his head to Lisa’s, Just a week ago, he flew to Cebu just to ensure that no one will capture Lisa other than him. Scorching heat from the sun touches Kier’s skin as he goes down from the plane. Who would have thought that he used a lot of money just to capture a little bug. “Sir,” A guy in a polo and tokong pants greeted him and his men. “This way,” it said and led them to the cars. They drove two hours from the airport to the beach resort where one of Sampaguita's bases is located. Kier is amazed by how this base made money. Usually, sampaguita will only engage in illegal imports , drugs and such, especially in the manila region; since it’s where the centre of their business. It’s hard to find a base such as this where they make money in small, cosy business. “How much do you earn here?” Kier asked nowhere. They got out of the car and the salty smell of the sea made his eyebrows raise. It’s calmer here than in manila. He looked around and thought ‘ Not bad’ as he kept wiggling his feet to remove sand that entered his sandals. “Sir, some things are deceptive.” The guy smiled at Kier as if he already knew what Kier meant. “If you think this base is a cosy, calm resort; you might want to take that back once the sun sets.” it added and chuckled. Kier grinned and followed the guy who entered the resort. It's a small building yet the location is good. “This way sir,” the guy said and led them inside the office of the building. Upon entering the room, Kier noticed nothing special inside but the flower on the office table. The bright red colours on its petals made him smirk. He suddenly turned his gaze to left side of the room, “Oh, sir Keir” the guy sitting on the room’s sofa got up and greeted them. “Jayven,” he said and stretched his hand with a wide smile on its smooth red lips . “I’m not the owner of this, just the secretary.” he smiled at them and offered their seat. Kier’s man stands on the side while others are outside guarding the room, he on the other hand seated on the chair beside the table. He then walked to the office chair in front of Kier and sitted like a boss. Kier grinned his teeth when he felt Jayven mocking him. After the day he was bought by Montero to sampaguita, Jayven thought highly of himself. He became the head in no time, managing the base in Cebu, which made his head bigger. “Jayven, you act like we haven't met.” Kier said without a blink. He remembered that it was him who bought Jayven out of Phoenix hive as their informant. But Jayven demanded to stay in sampaguita and become head, then only he would give information. “I see that you’re still injured.” he told him with no sign of worries. “I thought you already changed, I mean…” he paused and looked around the room before pointing at the guy in front of him. “Look at you, you made it and become the base leader,” He smiled. “But , How could she escape from the hands of sampaguita?” He then put his hands below his chin. “To think that it was just a GIRL.” Jayven smiled sarcastically and looked deadly to Kier. “ Sir, I’m sorry but let me correct you, she was not a girl.” he reached for the flower on his table and played with it around his hand. “Let me remind you that she was the right hand of Phoenix-” pak! “I’m sorry,” Kier casually apologised after he threw the flower pot to Kier’s man. “Money can really make a person stupid, isn’t?” he smirked. Jayven was speechless as he saw his man lying down on the floor with a bleeding head. ‘f**k’ he thought and tried to keep his face as normal as he can. “Ha-ha” he chuckled in fear “that’s fine.” he said and stood up from his seat. He was stunned on his feet when he saw Kier pointing his gun to his head. Kier sight and act like he was disappointed in every inch of Kier. “Sampaguita gave you a lot but in returned youre still a f*****g useless, “ “Let's not make this long,” Kier said in a deep voice. “Since you’re useless, let me do everything.” “Where is she, “ Kier asked. With trembling eyes, Jayven answered, “My men last spotted her in ilo-ilo” he said and breathed heavily. Kier rolled his eyes and pulled his gun’s trigger. Jayven screamed in pain as he felt his arm bleed. “F*ck!” He cursed and used his hand to stop the bleeding. “This should be enough for you to know your place.” Kier said and stood up. The sun is already set when they get out of the building. A loud noise and cheerful sound of people partying caught their attention. Kier looked out where the noise came from. “Party drugs huh?” he said as soon his eyes landed on the people dancing to the song. It seems very natural when you look at it, but it can clearly see that everyone is high. He smirked and got his feet inside the car. “So, that’s what they meant about the sun set, “ he chuckled. His man drove the same car they used coming to jayven’s base. It took them days before they finally reached their destination. They took a lot of effort asking and looking around. “Sir, we got her.” His man reported. They immediately went to the place his man reported. It seems that there’s no many people living on it, since houses are metres away from each other, and the whole place is covered in fields. They stopped in a house full of coconut husks at its entrance. An old man in a whited long sleeve greeted them. “Unsa imong kinahanglan?” (What do you need?) Kier looked at the man with a confused face. After a few seconds of processing the words, he realised that the man was speaking it’s local language. He then signals the man he took from Jayven’s base and pushes it in front of the old man. “Answer him,” he said in a threatening voice. “Don’t make anything suspicious.” Without any choice, the man took a photo from his pocket, “gipangita namo siya” (we’re looking for her) the man said and showed Lisa's photo. . The old man turned his gaze to the photo, he squinted his eyes to clearly see the person. “Ahh, gipangita nimo si Isay?” (ahh, you’re looking for Isay?) “Isay?” Kier’s man asked. “Oo, si Isay ba,” The old man confidently pointed at Lisa’s picture. The man looked at Kier and translated its words. A smirked form in Kier's lips, “Isay? How stupid is she to usedd a name that sounds like her real name?” he said and ordered his man to ask where she was . “Andun oh,”(there,) the old man pointed at a nipa hut not so far from them, without hesitating and smiled at them. Kier followed the old man’s hand and smirked as he saw a girl in the mountain of dried coconuts. “higala ka niya?” (are you her friend?) the old man asked. Kier raised his eyebrows when his man translated his words. He smiled at the old man and said, “Opo” (*polite* Yes) The old man cheerfully welcomes them and leads them to the hut. He talked non stop while Kier’s man kept translating his words. He keeps talking about how Lisa got in their house, “She’s a beauty, when she came here.” his man translated. “Her skin doesn’t seem like she knew how to work.” It added. When they reached the hut, The old man kept calling Lisa’s name, “Isay! naay nangita nimo” (Isay! There's someone looking for you.) A woman in a red long sleeved top with white polo and a wide woven hat suddenly comes out from the nipa hut. “Unsa na Mang Kanor?”(what is it, kanor?) she said and cheerfully came besides Kanor. Her body froze when she met Kier’s eyes. “Hello, Isay?” Kier smirked at her. “Or should I say…. Lisa?” Lisa's mind went blank at the moment, her hands trembling in fear. “f**k” she cursed as she gathered her thoughts. She immediately picked one of the coconut husks from the ground and threw it to Kier. “Run!” she shouted and pushed Kanor away.“Modagan ka Mang Kanor,” (run, Kanor) she said. Kaor runs and hides inside the hut. The people around them started to panic and ran to save their own lives.. Though she knew that she didn’t know if it hit them, she kept throwing the husk to Kier and his men until the very last husk she could reach. She steps backward when she runs out of the husk to throw. “We haven't met in a long time?” Kier chuckled and pulled out his gun. “Then you F*cking throw me some coconut sh*ts? How kind of you.” he sarcastically said and played with his gun. His men in his back also pulled out their guns and pointed it to Lisa. Lisa breathes heavily and steps backward. She was aghast when someone suddenly held his arms. It was Kanor, “Unsay nahitabo” (what is happening?) the old man pannickly asked her as he saw Kier and his man had their guns pointed at Lisa.”You need to go mang Kanor,” She said and pushed Kanor. Kanor was hesitant at first but he thought of his family and his life. He let go of Lisa’s arms and was about to run when Kier men caught him, “Mang Kanor.” Lisa shouted. Mang kanor struggled to get out from men's hands however, he was too old to fight. He was dragged and pushed in front of Kier. “Old man,” Kier said and squatted down to brush the old man’s head. “Is Lisa grateful for the old man?” he asked Lisa without looking at her. Lisa remains silent , she keeps looking for a way to escape. He looked at Kier’s man without paying any attention to Kier’s words. “Stupid.” she whispered to herself as she saw those men not moving without Kier’s command. Bang! A loud noise from the gun startled her, she fell down in shock. “The next time you don't answer me, “Kier paused and placed his gun to Kanors head. “He will be seeing his ancestors.” He said and pushed the gun roughly to kanors head. Lisa panics but her determination to escape is stronger. She slowly reached for the husk on his left side. “What the heck are you doing?!” Kier suddenly burst and squinted his eyes. “What are you going to throw those coconuts at me again?” Kier said and stood up. He kicked Kanor’s body who were trembling in fear. “How cheap? ” He commented and signalled his men to get her. Lisa smirked as her plan worked. One of Keir's men walks towards her with its gun pointed at her. She acted weak and frightened while she held the husk tightly. She tried to crawl backwards to make them believe that she was in a weak state. “P-please” she stuttered. Kier furrowed with Lisa’s behaviour. “Isn’t she gonna fight-” Kier did not finish his thoughts when a loud scream suddenly immersed. Lisa was holding the man's arm, and with a snap the man cried in pain. She broke its arm. Her facial reaction also changed as she looked at Kier. “F*ck” Kier shouted as Lisa ran to the back of the hut. “What the F*ck are you waiting for? Go and follow her!” he ferociously ordered his man who was still standing on his back. “Y-yes Sir!” Some of his men went on their way to follow the girl while others stayed with him, he on the other hand recharged his gun and pointed it to Kanors head who’s still unmoved due to shock. “Hey old man, tell me where we can easily catch her.” Kanor was shaking badly but he managed to point a shortcut to where Lisa will go. “Go to the right and you’ll see a track that leads you to the r-river.” Kanor said while pointing to the track which has tall grasses. “Oh, thank you.” Kier politely said and smiled at Kanor. “You seem tired, you probably need to rest.” Kier pulled his gun and pointed it to Kanor’s forehead. Kanor's eyes suddenly filled with fear, he begged for his life but Kier just smiled at him and pulled the trigger. Bang! Kanor’s body fell to the ground. “Pa!!” Kier looked at the kid who appeared from nowhere. The kid cried before his father’s corpse. “Pa! pagmata.” (pa! Wake up) it said. Kier didn’t feel remorseful, he left the scene without a sign of regret and followed the old man’s direction. “My parents also died in front of me but I didn’t even shed a tear.” He murmured while walking. Along with his man they reached the end of the track. “Sir,” one of his men stopped in front of him. “We lost her!” it said. Kier gripped his gun tighter, “Useless!” he said and shot his man. “All of you find that girl,” he said furiously. Kier men search the whole place, only to see a house. Lisa covered her mouth as soon as she heard footsteps coming on her way. She’s lucky that the family that owns the house beside the river, was kind enough to give her a hiding spot. They didn’t think twice when she said that someone was trying to kill her. They put her on their son’s room and closed the door. “Hey!” the voice of a middle-aged woman shouted. Kier men barged to the house. “You’re trespassing!” the woman said. She tried to stop the men from entering their house, yet they were too strong. “Linda!” a man shouted when Kier pushed the woman. “Where is she?!” Kier said, trying to sound calm. “Tell me where she is and everyone could live happily.” “Who is she?” the middle-aged man said while supporting his wife. “We’re the only ones here,” he added. Kier became more furious, he walked towards the couple and pulled the man’s hair. “Wow, what a brave man.” he said, and kicked the man’s thigh, which made the man kneel. The woman was shocked and stunned on her feet, “Mando,” she cried. “L-let go of him,” she begged. Kier looked at her blankly and charged his gun. “I’m a good guy madam,” he paused and pointed his gun to the man’s temple. “Tell me where the girl is and your husband is safe.” The woman’s eyes were turning red from crying. “Ma,” a boy suddenly walked towards his mother and hugged her. “I’m scared.” the boy said. “Junjun go back to mama’s room ,” his mother commanded. “Now it’s interesting,” Kier chuckled. He pulled the man's hair tightly and whispered, “ Your son is quite cute,” he smirked. “I bet he'd be cuter if I shot his head.” Kier said and slowly turned his gun to the boy. “N-No,” the man cried. “P-please, not my son.” he begged. Bang!bang “ MAAAA!!!” The boy shouted as his mother fell down to the ground. “Ma!” he said and kneeled before his mother. He shook his mother's body. He was fooze in his seat when blood started to flow. “Lindaa!!” The man screamed in disbelief. “W-we don’t know what you are looking for. P-please let us go.” the man begged while looking at his son. “Pa!” The boy shouted and looked at his father like he was telling him to give up and tell them where the girl was. His father shook his head, making the boy cry in silence. “Geez, Lisa, come out now.” Kier shouted without giving care to the family. “How many kids should lose their parents for you?huh?” he shouted. “Gosh.” he murmured and shot the man’s leg. “ARGHH!” the man screamed in pain. He felt heat on his leg followed by the flow of fluid. He tried to stop his bleeding by putting pressure on his leg, yet Kier pulled his hair up. “Lisa, come out!” he shouted. But still no response. “Seriously?” he said in disappointment. “Kid, don’t blame me here,” he pointed the gun to the man’s temple. Kier was about to pull the trigger when the kid suddenly stood up, “S-stop.” The boy shouted. “Please, she’s there.” he said pointing to the room where Lisa was hiding. “In my cabinet.” he said with his head bowed down. “Jun!” his father shouted. But the boy kept pointing at the room and didn't care about his father’s words. “Wow,” Kier said and accidentally pulled the trigger. “Oops sorry,” he casually apologised and raised his hand in the air. The boy was stunned on his feet, unable to move. “Thank you,” Kier whispered to the boy and tapped his shoulder. He ordered his man to get Lisa from the room. “Don’t let her go.” The boy felt his body about to collapse, his eyes blankly looking at his father’s body covered in blood. “Pa…” he said. Unable to cry nor shout he walked towards his father and hugged it. “Let me go,” Lisa struggled to move. Kier’s men are holding her arms. “You…heartless monster.” She strongly said while getting her hand out of Kier’s men. Kier walked towards her and slapped her. “It’s your fault.” he said and signalled his man to drag her out of the house. Before they left he went to the boy and gave him a million worth of checks. “Be strong, I guess?” he said and left the boy dumbfounded. Kier smirked as he successfully dragged Lisa to manila. But he was not very happy to have a headache from her. “F*ck you” Lisa cursed and tried to avoid his touched. “Hide and seek was not my favourite game,” Kier reached for Lisa’s chin and raised it, “ so, better shut your mouth. “ a devilish smile forms on his lips. Lisa felt the tension in her back crawling to her head, yet she keeps her face unintimidated. She smirked and looked directly at Kier’s eyes, leaving no sign of fear. “Who cares about your favourite game, you’re still a leech who keeps sucking things.” Kier’s hand forms a fist trying to suppress his anger. This b***h has the guts to annoy me. Kier rolled his eyes and stood up. “Let’s see if you can still run your sh*ts, when Nandie is here.” He said and got his phone from his pocket. He dialled Fernand’s number and brought his phone closer to his ears. “Tch. Nandie? What a fcking name.” Lisa grinned. Kier just raised his eyebrows, is it amazing how you confidently curse your brother’s name?. He thought as he put his call on speaker mode. “Hello?” A sweet yet manly voice suddenly got his attention. Kier’s lips suddenly formed a smile. He has no idea how this man makes him flutter each time he talks. sh*t. He thought as he kept on gathering himself to answer the guy. “Hi, babe.” he teased. Lisa frowned as she heard those words. She scrunched her face like she wanted to throw up.hi babe? What the hell?. She thought while still looking disgusted by how Kier acted. “What?” The voice sounds like it was whispering but it can be heard by both Kier and Lisa. “Won’t you greet me? Like `` hello kier how are you doing?” Kier chuckled. “What do you need?” Fernand's voice seemed annoyed. Kier suddenly stopped and rolled his eyes. Tch, just like his sister. both pretentious. “Nah, I'm just gonna update you that your sister is safe. That’s all. Keep safe.” Kier hung up the call. He looked at Lisa that was lost in gaze. “What’s wrong?” he grinned. He totally knew that Lisa was shocked, her eyes trembling in confusion while she breathed heavily. “Cat got your tongue?” Kier said annoyingly. But Lisa doesn't give much attention to his mocking, she still tries to convince herself that it may only sound like her brother’s voice. She keeps shaking her head multiple times, remembering her brother’s voice clearly. “Aww…” Kier softly said to mock Lisa, “Our loyal Lisa lost her voice.” Kier grinned. “Does your brother’s voice really make you stunned?” “F*Ck you.” Lisa snapped between her thoughts. She could no longer convince herself, “Stay away from him, you dipsh*t.” Lisa cursed. “Nah-ah.” Kier mockingly smirked at her. “He’s too tasty for me to leave him,”
