"What? No! I'm human!" Danisha exclaimed at once, her face contorted in bewilderment.
The creases on Anika's forehead deepened as she looked at me and Jasper.
"But my pixie says that you're not," she shifted her gaze towards Liam, who was still unconscious and bleeding from his nose. "And he too is not a human completely."
I opened my mouth to speak, but before I did, Danisha heaved a deep sigh and shook her head.
"If I had any magical creature living inside me, I could have protected myself from Liam. Besides, you are among the first people I would tell if I did. I don't keep secrets from you because I am bad at it. I'm very human, Anika," Danisha insisted.
