CHAPTER 5 – Her brown mixed blood

Axel’s POV

I couldn’t sleep last night properly. This time it’s not because of the dream, but because of her. My mate! Usually, wolves ’ worlds become perfect when they find their mate, but my world is upside down. Spike is fighting with me to mark her, claim her as ours. I put a great effort to keep him down there and come to my bedroom. I kept her in the best guest room I am having. When I wan entered the mansion with her in my arms everyone looked at me with one question on their faces

Who is she Alpha? Was the only question I see from their expressions.

I have never brought a woman here. I have slept with many, but it all happened in different hotels. Manhatten mansion is a place I wanted to keep clean. In the mansion all the maids and everyone who works here are wolves. Few survivors from my Redwood pack and most of the others are rogues who have left their packs because of many reasons. They request me to form a pack, but I don’t want to see the history repeat one day.  

I ask Sophia to take good care of her. I don’t want to make her my mate or my so-called Luna. I will allow her to stay here for a while until I find a way to handle Spike. I have to think of an option where she rejects me by herself. Otherwise, Spike will not let her go. I don’t want to become weak because of the mate bond, but from the moment I touch her, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I feel that not only my wolf part but also my human part is also attracting her.

I scanned her body when I gently lay her on the bed. I see bruises on her face and lips. She was wearing a single-piece dress, it has so many holes. I don’t want to change her clothes, I ask Sophia to change them and look after her. She didn’t ask me about her, she is a polite wolf who obeys my commands every time. I know Sophia for the last eight years. I saved her when she was about to be attacked by her pack, since that day she is with me. Everyone working with me knows my story and they know that I am an Alpha.

Spike tried hard to come to the surface and he wanted to have skin-to-skin touch with her. He wanted to cuddle her and sleep. In deeply I also wanted that, I know that she can heal my wounded soul, but I don’t want to take another risk, I don’t want to get hurt again. I know that rejecting each other will suffer us a lot until the last breath, but that suffering is better than the bitter future I am speaking about. Maybe she will move in her life. I don’t want to be attached to any relationship and build a family. I don’t want to see others' lives in danger because of me.

I came out to my bedroom and lay on the bed. But I couldn’t sleep, the sleep doesn’t come near me, my mind screams to go for her and sleep with her. I rolled here and there on the bed, but I couldn’t handle myself thinking about her. I cursed fate for creating this mate bond. Alpha’s feel it ten times stronger than the other wolves. I get on the bed to check the documents for tomorrow’s meeting.           

In the morning I was distracted from her thinking because of the meetings scheduled for the day.

“Alpha, all set for the meeting. It was only your presence is needed to begin the meeting” Noah came to my office room while I was checking a file.

“Let’s go then” I stood up from the chair and went into the meeting room. I hear them speaking about the secret female presence in the mansion. As soon as they see me, they stopped whispering to each other.

“Tell them that we found our mate, tell them to respect her. She is their Luna” Spike impatiently mind linked me.

“I will tell them Spike, but this is not the time” I replied.

“I know that you are looking for reasons to reject her, remember that we are nothing without her” Spike growled to me.

“Let me warn you first, if I ever hear a word about someone speaking about the female I brought last night to the mansion, you will face the wrath of your Alpha” I roamed my blue eyes around the room and my voice came out as a threat with my gritted teeth. My jawline moves here and there from inside.

“It won’t happen again Alpha” one warrior stood up and said.

“Very well. Then let’s focus on meeting factors” the meeting started and when it comes to tea time, I stopped it for a while. I checked the time and found that it’s 9.50 a.m. she must be wake up now, Sophia will take care of her. I ask Sophia to let me know that if her condition becomes worse. The meeting room faces the vegetable garden of the mansion. I went near the window and moved the curtain a little to check the surroundings. My breath got hitched with the scenery I saw.

She is in the garden! Sophia and Gardner are also there and three of them are speaking with each other. She smiles and giggles. I gulp to see her beauty, her beautiful thick brunette hair sways in the wind, and from time to time she struggles with her hair. She is wearing a yellow dress, she looks like a sunflower. The urge to hug her in my embrace started to itch in my veins.

I didn’t ask Sophia to take her out. Am I dreaming or is she really in the garden? I ran out to her room to check on her. Everyone from the meeting room was looking at me with their disbelief eyes.

I ran to her room and found that she is not in the room. I check the bathroom. It’s wet and I saw the shower floor has some brown mixed water drops.

What are these? Is that mud or blood? I sniff in the air.

“It’s our mate’s blood mix mud” Spikes impatiently said. I took the wet towel and found that it has so many patches with brown mixed red.

What the f**k? If she is wounded why didn’t Sophia tell me before? She needs to get rest, but what she is doing is roaming here and there.                     

I came out of the room by keeping my heavy and long strides. I went to the garden to find that she is prepared to pluck some vegetables. I rolled my shirt’s arms up to my elbow.

The volcano is about to blast from me inside which was bubbling since the moment I saw her wound’s blood.

“Sophia” I roared to shake the entire property.

She turned to look at me with her scared eyes. The bucket fell from her hand to the ground. Our eyes met, she saw my red eyes. It was the first time I saw her green eyes. Her big doe eyes and her brunette wet hair brought a different look to her. I have never seen such a beautiful girl in my life. I have slept with many, but this feeling is different.

She quickly looked down to avoid my eyes. Sophia looked at me and came to me quickly. I am still looking at her above Sophia’s shoulder. She is squeezing her hands and digging the ground from her slippers. She keeps biting her lips to show her uneasiness. I gulp when I see her plump lips. It has bruises.

“A…Alpha” Sophia said with her stuttered voice.

“Why didn’t you tell me that she is wounded?” I gritted my teeth and kept my arms on either side of my waist.

“A..Alpha, I am s..sorry” Sophia’s voice came out with a guilty mix voice.      

“How could this happen, Sophia? You changed her clothes last night, you should have seen that she is wounded. it was your responsibility to inform me Sophia” my bluish veins are popping out from my neck, I feel it. My heart beats raised and pulses are getting higher with the blood pressure. I have never talked to Sophia before. She is looking at me with her wide mouth. I know that she can’t believe the way I am talking to her.

“Alpha, I didn’t think about that. I thought to band-aid the wounds later today” Sophia said with a guilty tone.                       

“You did a great mistake Sophia” I rubbed my forehead and wipe my face from my both palms.  

I started to walk to her. This time my heart is beating with a different rhythm. It’s not anger, it’s an itchy feeling. The mate bond is drawing me to her. I stood up near to her. The distance between us was about one foot. She is still looking down.

“Are you planning to look on the ground for the whole day?” I raised my voice to her, it came out as a soft voice. I can’t believe myself.  She is still looking down.

“Can’t you hear I am speaking to you?” this time I speak a little bit of a high voice

“Forgive me Alpha. I am not supposed to look at you and speak” when her angelic voice touch my ears I took a deep breath. My soul healed with her one word.

“I am the Alpha and I am asking you to look at me” I kept my index finger on her chin and lift her face to look at me.

Asking? Really? I’ve never asked anyone. I always command. What have you done to me mate?

“How did you get wound?” I ask deeply looking at her eyes.

“It’s nothing Alpha,” she said.

“You are not answering to Alpha properly. Come here” I dragged her to my chest and threw her to my shoulders.
