Chapter 8

Trisha and Angel stayed on the hospital. Hindi na nila inisip ang afternoon class nila at pina alis si Yves at Samara. They told the two they can watch their friend, and they - specifically Yves - don't have to stay.

Of course, Samara protested but Annie told her to go since she's fine already. Tahimik lang ang dalawa na nakatingin ng masama kay Annie, and Annie didn't seem to comfortable with that. "What's the deal? Stop glaring at me!" she yelled.

The two go near her and looked at her eyes, very closely. "Tell me you didn't fell for him again?" Angel suspisciously asked inspecting Annie's eyes. Annie pushed them away,

"Beats me! Can you stop that. I know Yves just helped Samara to bring me here, that's all, why would I fell for him again? Anyone who sees me in that condition would do the same, and I freaking know that!" Annie defended, trying so hard to control her tone.

The burst out laughing. "Yeah, I remember, there's no way you can fell for him AGAIN because you haven't moved on yet." Trisha mocked her.

"And oh, not everyone will do the same, others will call the ambulance instead of using their car to get you here just like what Yves did." Angel mocked her too.

She glared at her friends. "Could you stop teasing me with that?!" she yelled but immediately regretted it for it caused her throat to hurt. Napahawak siya sa leeg niya kaya natigilan ang dalawa.

"Oh crap. We shouldn't did that." Trisha said, "Oh yeah, I almost forgot that our dear friend has swollen throat and yells when she gets mad." Angel agreed.

They sat next to Annie who still not saying anything. Natahimik silang tatlo, at hindi na nagsalita si Annie, marahil ay dahil sa lalamunan niya o sadyang nawala na siya sa mood.

She laid down on the bed and covered her face with the blanket. Minutes later, she's already asleep. The two sighed, they're looking at their dear friend.

"What a pity. Hanggang kailan ba siya masasaktan ng ganyan?" Angel dramatically asked. Napailing si Trisha, "I have no idea either. She's so broke." she said as she try so hard to not cry.

"Excuse me." Trisha said and stood up. Lumabas ito ng kwarto ni Annie, hindi na iyon binigyang pansin ni Angel at nagbikit balikat nalang.

Trisha went to the bathroom, she stood right infront of the mirror, looking at her tired face.

Napailing siya at naghilamos. After washing her face, someone entered the comfort room, and she stopped after realizing it was Airee.

Napatingin si Airee sa kanya at natigilan din ito, "Hey, you're here?" she said and walk near her. Napangiti si Trisha, "Yeah, Annie suffered from anaphylactic shock because of allergic reaction." Trisha explained which made Airee's twitched.

"Oh...is she the one my mom was checking earlier when I called her?" Airee asked and Trisha nodded. "Sorry for that." Airee said, napakunot noo si Trisha, "Bakit naman?" tanong niya.

"For interrupting, it was just that my grandfather's vitals..." Airee didn't finish her words for Trisha laugh lightly, "Ano ka ba, maayos naman na si Annie noong pumasok ka. Kamusta na pala ang lolo mo?" Trisha asked.

Airee half smiled, "Thanks" she said. Trisha was about to say something when someone entered, and again she was stunned to see the girl who just came in.

Nagkatitigan sila ng babaeng kakapasok lang ng comfort room, kapwa silang natigilan samantalang si Airee ay nagtataka. "Uhm, do you know each other..?" she asked and both, Trisha and Scarlet looked at her.

"You know her?" the two asked her in chorus, "Uhh...yes, I-I do know both of you, why?" Airee awkwardly answered. Bumagsak ang balikat ng dalawa at nag iwasan ng tingin. They were filled with awkward silence, and Airee couldn't say anything but she still tried to break the silence.

"Uh-are you okay?" she asked, but no one responded. Magsasalita sana siya ulit nang tumingin ng masama si Trisha kay Scarlet. "Why are you here?" she asked.

Scarlet looked at Airee, "I'm with her, my cousin." She said pointing at her cousin Airee. Natigilan si Trisha at tumingin kay Airee, "Y-You mean, that b***h is your cousin?!" Trisha unbelievingly asked Airee referring to Scarlet.

Airee was startled but Scarlet remained calm, however after some minutes, Airee recovered from her shock and faced Trisha with her devoid face. "Yes, Scarlet Celeste is my cousin, and why would you call her b***h?" she said looking furiosly at Trisha.

Trisha was taken aback, she gazed away and after some time of being silent, she stormed out the comfort room giving Scarlet a death glare.

"I'm here because I felt the need to urinate but what the hell did I just saw Scarlet?" Airee asked as soon as Trisha left, "You know Trisha and you didn't even tell me?" she added.

Scarlet laughed, "Calm down, will you? I didn't know you know her too." she reasoned out and entered the first cubicle. Airee stood on close to the door of the cubicle where her cousin is in. "How did you know Trisha? You're 2 years older than us?" Airee asked.

"Can you actually not ask me that in here?" Scarlet said from inside the cubicle.

Pagtapos ng ilang segundo, lumabas din si Scarlet at naghugas ng kamay bago sila sabay na lumabas at bumalik sa kwarto ng lolo Romualdo nila.

"So, how did you know Trisha?" Airee asked as soon as they got back to their grandpa's room. Scarlet rolled her eyes.

"I met her because of the Brooklyn's head master, si kuya Mattheo. Your brother and kuya Mattheo are very close friends kaya simula elementary hanggang senior high sa Brooklyn ako nag aral. And given the fact that I became friends with kuya Mattheo, I get to know Trisha and her brother Matt. The three of us became very close friends, but then when Matt and I almost finish our 11th year, my father died and mom brought me to California, and she disappeared too."

Mahabang paliwanag ni Trisha, na bumuo ng mga tanong sa isipan ni Airee, "Trisha has a brother? And what again, you're friends with them? Why didn't I know that my brother is also close to the head master? And why is it that your friends didn't know about the reason why you left?" sunod sunod niyang tanong.

Scarlet smiled, and fixed their grandpa's blanket. "Yes Trisha has a brother and his name's Matt Ily Brooklyn, we were once best of friends, and the reason why I wasn't able to communicate with them is your grandfather." sagot ni Scarlet na lubos ikinataka ni Airee.

"Lolo Takeshima? Bakit?" she cluelessly asked.

"Hindi ko alam ang rason, pero pinutol niya ang komunikasyon ko sa mga kaibigan ko sa Pinas. Nang dalhin ako ni mama sa inyo, nawala na lahat ng ugnayan ko sa lahat ng kilala ko, at lahat iyon dahil sa kagustuhan ni lolo Takeshima." turan ni Scarlet.

"Well, that's weird, lolo also cut my connection with Ethan." bulong ni Airee.

Napa iling na lamang si Airee pero napaka dami paring tanong ang naglalaro sa kanyang isipan.

Natahimik sila pero kaagad din iyong binasag ni Airee. "Kamusta na pala ang paghahanap kay tita Charlotte?" she asked out of the blue.

Nakita niya ang pagtulo ng luha ni Scarlet nang banggitin niya ang pangalan ng ina nito. Scarlet's weakness has always been her mom.

"Detective Nicki and his wife are still clueless. There has no any leads. Pakiramdam ko nga tumigil na sila sa paghahanap, pakiramdam ko napipilitan lang sila dahil subordinates sila ni dad noon." Scarlet assumed.

Airee couldn't say a thing. She caressed her cousin's back. Madami siyang gustong malaman pero hindi niya alam kung paano o saan magsisimula.

Hinayaan niya nalang na umiyak ang pinsan niya at hindi na siya nagtanong pa.

She's been longing for answers but maybe this isn't the right time for her to unfold everything she wants to know, only the future will do.
