My brother Oliver called me to know where I was. I told him where I was and he ends the connection.
"Brother, where is Eve?" I searched his car, but I couldn't see anyone, "when do my brother starts taking care of a woman, is not like you"
"Why did she leave with you?" I ignored his questions. "You don't think you should give me a big hug first for greeting, besides, it's been a long time and I'm your big brother, look how mature you are, you look like a real boss now," Steve organized my jacket, "I'm glad you're back, brother but I want to know where did Eve go? "
"Didn't you hate your grandfather interfering in your life and relationship, are you serious about Eve?" Steve inquired but I'm not willing to listen to whatever he has to say.
"If you don't say where Eve is, I will find her myself"
"Wait, don't you know I was kidding with you, she's on the highway," Steve tightened his hand on my shoulder. "You should see your grandpa soon, now you're back"
"Do you think Grandpa will be delighted, never mind, leave it to me, next time we have a drink, hurry up and go," Steve nudge me "Then I'll be on my way," I walked away from him to my car and drove away.
I drove so long before I saw Eve, I rushed out of the car and hugged her tightly, ignoring her questions "you have no safety knowledge, it's dangerous to stop here," I break the hug, my gaze was on her face. She was silent and I took her home.
I don't know if this psycho will hug me again or did he think I lost my way? I thought while he was driving. When I got to Oliver Grey's apartment I met Geoffrey who came up to me "what happened to your feet, did you sprain your ankle?" Geoffrey showed his concern.
"I'm fine Geoffrey let me introduce you to my savior, this is my friend I met recently he sent me back, don't get us wrong, he is elder to me"
"Senior?" He acts surprised, "Thank you for sending me home, but it's late, you should start going now, I'm fine and I won't invite you to dinner today."
"But you sprained your leg, as an elder I will take responsibility for looking after you"
"I'm so thankful, this is still your boss's house and you still work for him, I don't want to get you in trouble, so get out now," I advise him in a low tone. "Geoffrey, help me upstairs," he wants to help, but it's like someone is shooting daggers at him and he refuses, "it's not proper to have body contact with you," Geoffrey backed away, "then I'll go alone." I was going up the stairs but someone lifted me off my feet and I shouted "what are you doing? Put me down ''
"I'm not glad you walk like that"
"Put me down now, if Mr. Grey sees us like this, it'll be a wife cheating scene, we're both going to be in trouble, let me go."
"If you care about his opinion, why do you want to leave him in a hurry?" I remembered what Mr. Grey said in the car: "I don't want you in trouble, do you understand?'', I jump off his arms and howled in pain. "What's wrong with the Grey family, how can they choose you to be one of their employees, you are so weird?" I was so frustrated with the pain, but I was still going upstairs alone, he was still following me "why are you still following me, I'm fine you can go now" but he didn't take me seriously instead he came into my room and sat down "come here and sit down"
"What are you doing sitting down?" I limp to where he is "Sit down and show me your ankle"
"I'm fine, I just need a rest"
"Show me your ankle, come on," he tried reaching for my feet, "I'm begging you, you should leave now, if Geoffrey tells Mr. Grey something, I'll be in trouble."
"Don't be afraid, I'm the one that sent you home so he should understand"
"You are the one who does not understand anything, better we'd not meet again, it is for your good and also for me to break off the engagement," I argue and he left.
Steve's p.o.v.
I came back to vegas with a lot of plans no one knows anything about, called my partner, she told me she would surprise me if I told her I was coming back but I think it's not necessary I told her not to quit managing the company, then I was interrupted by Eve's question: "You've met Eva, haven't you?"
"Yes, she seems interesting"
"My sister is innocent and simple, I hope you won't hurt her"
"Sure, I won't hurt her, I know what to do." I started touching her but she pulled away and asked me to promise her, I did, hugged her, and kissed her forehead.
Returning to Oliver Grey's apartment, "Oliver, Eve says she doesn't want to see you, I shouldn't let you in, but this is your home, how can I stop you from entering your house, it's so hard for me," Geoffrey complained
"Do as she says"
"When will you then tell her that you are her husband?"
"I have no idea, but I think it's interesting."
"Interesting?" Geoffrey was stunned at my hilarious change, "yes," I responded, "Then I'll give you an idea, you were busy with your work so you don't know anything about a relationship, do you know the biggest abomination in a relationship is being a dummy"
"Dummy?"
"Yes, when I started courting my wife I didn't do well at first, then I realized that I would be humble if I just flatter her and give her too much, I was so Humble that I was like a dog, will you fall in love with a dog? "
"You mean I was like a dog?"
"Of course you are," I shot a death glare at him before he realized what he meant.
