Sebastian Alpha Damon was silent after hearing David's story. "You're lucky those trashy motels don't have cameras. The problem has been handled, but you are forbidden to go back there." David nodded his head vigorously, "Understood Alpha." My curiosity was getting the better of me, and I just had to ask. "Alpha, may I ask what was done with the women?" "I will tell you, but after this, no more talk about this night. Is that understood?" He asked us both. We agreed and I was eager to hear what was done. "Scott and Michael took the bodies to the entrance of the forest, shifted into wolf form, and made it look like an animal attack. This is the end of discussion. You may leave now." I can't stop thinking about those poor innocent women. They didn't deserve to die like that. David and I walk in silence to the backyard. I knew he would want to talk about this and let out all of the frustration and guilt he must be feeling. We shift and I follow his lead into the forest. David takes off running at the speed of lightning, and I keep up effortlessly. He finally stops after an hour and takes a drink from the river. After clenching our thirst, we shift back into human form. "Sebastian. I-I'm such an i***t. I'll never forgive myself for this. This is karma for being a man-w***e and not waiting for my mate. I have innocent blood on my hands and I'll have to live with that fact forever." My heart hurts for my best friend. "David. You can't blame yourself. You didn't kill them, Lucas did." "I should have not allowed him to join me and the ladies, but we were having such a good time. I never thought he would be such a monster." I stare at him dumbfounded. "He's literally the devil. What did you expect?" "I DIDN'T EXPECT HIM TO BE A MURDERER! I THOUGHT HE ONLY HUNG OUT WITH DEAD PEOPLE IN HELL, NOT CAUSE DEATHS!" My eyes flicker black for a mere second, my wolf not appreciating being yelled at like that. I take a deep breath because I know he's only yelling because he's upset. "You're a good man, don't think otherwise. Their bodies will be found and once the funeral is announced, we are going to attend. Any last words and apologies can be said then. You need closure and I am always here for you. Don't ever forget that." "I love you, man," David says as I give him a hug. "Love you too." Once we return home, I wish him a goodnight as I head to my bedroom. Hopping into the shower, I feel refreshed as the water washes away the events of today. Tossing just a pair of boxers on, I climb into bed. Grabbing my phone to set my alarm, I think about texting Ariel. Just the thought of her has me smiling. Would it seem desperate though to text her the same night that she gave me her number? "Who the f**k cares! We are desperate! Text mate!" My wolf shouts in my mind. I feel like a nervous teenage boy about to text his crush. What do I say to her? Hi, this is Sebastian. Sorry for rushing out tonight the way I did. I feel bad for not saying bye to you. Clicking send, I wonder how long I have to wait for a reply. I understand. Alexandria told me there was an emergency. Is everything okay now? Well, damn. I wasn't expecting a reply that quickly. Hmm.. so the Luna did remain at the bar after we had left. Oh, goddess. I hope she didn't say anything embarrassing about me to my mate. Everything is okay for now, thanks for asking. How is your night going? Are you home yet? Not yet, but soon. I leave work in an hour. Would you like to join me for breakfast tomorrow? My wolf is howling in delight. I can't believe she is asking me on a date. My heart feels like it's going to burst through my chest. I would be delighted. Let me know what time and where at.
