Interrogation

Samantha I laugh, I didn't know they had everyone involved in this madness too. As if dragons can ever exist. They went even ahead and wore contacts as if that was meant to scare me. I laugh harder, this is the most absurd thing. I open my mouth to say something, but someone beats me to it. “ April, Santino is looking for you,” A maid calls her, and I finally learn her name. I have been afraid to ask what her name is because it would be too embarrassing to ask for it now when we have been chatting for quite a while. I am happy the maid saved me all the trouble, including the embarrassment. I proceed to make myself a little snack and I decide on a sandwich, hunger will be the end of me. I glide across the kitchen putting the ingredients together. My biggest worry at the moment is where I left my Besto Key. I always keep it hidden in a little box inside my room, if someone gets my gadget I am f****d. Of course, they won’t be able to operate it because it only responds to me and I made sure that the tech is complicated to use that someone would end up being frustrated before it worked and still, it's in high demand in the black market. How people in the black market know about it still surprises me, and I don't know who is selling such information. If it wasn't clear that someone had been betraying us, it's more clear now. Santino and Maximo did mention an anonymous tip. A lot is going on, though, I still need to sneak out of this place and find my way to my dorm room. I am sure people have sent in missing reports about me but all that has to be worthless, my kidnappers are billionaires and that is a small issue that they can easily sweep under the carpet. The strong, rich scent of tobacco with a hint of Ceder invades my nostrils. I don’t need to turn to know who has invaded the space of the kitchen, his scent is enough to do all the talking. He finds a seat at the far corner and watches me with those dangerous, icy gray eyes. I am expecting some kind of mocking from him, but his silence surely catches me off guard. I do know what to do with his silence. If it was Santino I wouldn’t have minded, but Maximo, this is a whole different case. My mind is running at an incredible speed, and his gaze feels like pins and needles. I grab the edge of the table. “ What am I doing in the kitchen again?” I mutter under my breath. Maximo chuckles before he drags his cigar. He tilts his head, and the scrutiny is making it harder to breathe. “ Breathe in, breathe out, he is another ordinary billionaire who is a jerk,” I mutter once more, my voice barely above a whisper. He c***s his head to the other side, amusement dancing in his eyes. It's clear he is here to torment me with his presence. I grab some bread and put it on the plate. I add the other ingredients and some cheese, including toppings. It looks delicious to me and I can't wait to devour it. My stomach rumbles to voice out its troubles, and I rub it with a pout on my face. “ You will eat, my little darling,” I whisper to it. My hand moves to grab the sandwich and I touch air. I blink, opening my eyes wider to stare at the empty plate in front of me. The f*****g Sandwich is gone like it was never there. I raise my head and Maximo is in his seat. He smirks as he takes a bite of my Sandwich. The same f*****g Sandwich that I was just from making. He did he move so fast!!! April's words ring in my mind. They are dragons. The f**k! As if dragons can ever exist. I am sure it's some voodoo type of s**t. That's the only logical explanation that is there. It has to be some kind of magic because cause there is no way someone can move that fast. He blows on the Sandwich, and it turns to crisp in my very eyes. Like his breath of made out of fire or something! Breath made of fire!!!!! That's clearly what a dragon does! My mind refused to believe such atrocities. I can't stomach it, so I believe in most delusion possibilities which magic, yeah magicians are everywhere. It has to be that, I am sure, and they are trying to frighten me with it. I glare at Maximo, but I can't say anything, my life is in his hands, so I keep quiet even though my stomach is rumbling like crazy. I put together another sandwich and the same thing happens. I jerk my head in his direction, and he smirks before he blows on it and takes a huge bite. “ You know, you make nice Sandwiches,” He complements me as he licks his finger. The action has me dizzy for a moment. I need to focus on myself. I remain quiet. My stomach does the answering and he laughs. His expression slowly changes into a glare, and he begins to do his voodoo of heating the room. “ I don't believe that you don't know what about your brother's business.” His tone is fierce. I remain composed, “Why Because he is my brother and I expect to know everything that goes on in his life,” I nearly laugh at how true this statement is. Well, it's half the truth, I don't know what Ethan does during the times that he goes quiet on me. Most times we don't have the best communication, and it's better this way, it keeps both of us safe. “ Yes precisely, you are the beneficiary of his business that Rolls-Royce that he bought you, didn't you wonder where he got the money?” He presses, and his gaze is sharper than his brother's. It makes me too uncomfortable, and the temperature in the room continues to rise by a degree the more he interrogates me. He hasn’t bought my bullshit like his brother. Santino easily brushed it off, but this asshole doesn't look like the one to easily brush off matters. Sweat begins to accumulate on most parts of my body, including my palms. I know exactly where that money came from, it's from that ruby that was glowing in my presence. I actually wanted to keep it to myself, but I thought it would be valued at a higher price if sold. I remember packaging it together with the diamonds and sending everything to my brother. We have a middleman who normally handles the sending when my brother and I are in different cities or countries. My brother is the one who recommended him and since I once ventured into pottery, the same pots I make are the ones I use to hide the stones. So I explained everything to my brother that the stone was special because it was glowing and when he received it didn't glow at all, he asked me if I was imagining things, or maybe I was tired that day and saw something else. But I know what I saw, the stone was small enough to fit in my palm. I knew there was something special about it and now that Maximo and Santino want it back, they have gone to the lengths of kidnapping me just to have it back must mean it's really important. Besides, it fetched a very high, shocking price in the black market. I shrug and shake my head. “ My brother is a millionaire, he has been for a year, so I am sure he saved up enough to buy me that car,” I tell him nonchalantly. By now I am no longer sweating, but my skin feels dry. I am breathless and if he keeps up with this I will pass out. He chuckles before he throws the rest of the sandwich in his mouth. “ My dragon can smell the lies from you, he wants me to burn you alive, for lying to us. You think we are little children that you can easily lie to?” He chuckles once more, and it sounds like that evil laughter of the villain in most cartoons. “ What dragon? What are you five? You are playing pretend, did something hit your head, and suddenly you feel that you are a dragon?” I throw my hands as I laugh at the words of this man, he must be crazy. Just because he is playing little tricks on me, he wants to scare me with this dragon nonsense. His left eye twitches and the next second he is standing in front of me. He is so f*****g close, that's our breaths exchange. Damn is freaking tall, nearly the same height as Santino, he makes my 5’7 feel like it's of a child. He bends over, his icy gray pierce my soul. I make the most stupid move ever. I throw myself at him and crush my lips against his. The sweet taste of cigar lingers in my mouth, and I can get used to this man. No, I want both of them. What the heck! Maximo grabs my thigh and lifts me off the ground, easily putting me on the island. He grabs my neck and surprisingly that heat isn't affecting me anymore. He squeezes my neck tighter, bites my lower lip before he pulls away, and smirks. “ Such cheap tricks don't work on me, you are not the first to throw themselves at me. So don't think I will treat you any different simply because you are living in my house.” He growls and he sounds animalistic and angry. I can barely breathe with his hand around my neck. “ Let her go, brother, she isn't worth all the trouble. Besides, I don't want you to get attached because the moment we retrieve the dragon heart, she will go back to her brother.” Santino says in a bored tone. The room cools down even further. Maximo lets go of my neck and I cough as I grab it to smooth it out. My neck continues to burn. I rush to the sink to grab some water. I gulp it down and crumble on the floor, I am coughing hard. “ Tell her not to do anything funny next time, or I will f**k her hard before I burn her with my flames.” Santino sighs and walks over to me. “ You must really not like your fingers, Samantha,” He murmurs casually. His words send that cold chill and I feel like I have been hit by a bucket of ice-cold water. My fingers begin to chill, and I hide them from his sigh, my eyes wide. He is the devil.
