Chapter 16 - Expectation
"I am sure that I saw that pendant around her neck on the anniversary night, Morgan." Lady Barbara said as she followed her husband to his study.
"Are you positive, Barbara? Do you know what you are trying to bring back?"
"Yes, and we need to act very fast, Morgan. Myles is head over heels in love with that savage and he's listening to nothing. Are you aware? What are you even doing about it?"
"Don't you tell me that. I have tried but that girl isn't interested in money. I even offered to take her to Switzerland but she refused. I doubt it's the money she wants. She's after something."
"Didn't you see the pendant around her neck?"
"No. There was no pendant."
Morgan looked disturbed.
"I wonder what Myles has seen in her. There's nothing to like about her.
