My plan was to wake up before Damian to make sure I could talk to him. But when I woke up, I was alone in bed. I had slept so soundly because of his tight embrace, which had comforted me and stopped my crying. I stepped out of the room and looked around, hoping to find a maid or a family member of Damian whom I could ask about his whereabouts. Surely, he didn't leave me, right?
