Bumalik ako sa fridge to tell her everything that I’m seeing and we decide to take the bacons, eggs, and salad. I’m not really a salad girl pero gusto ko lang mag-adjust nang konti para sa taong kasama ko because she’s just that type of person—the type that would pick a salad over pizza and pasta. And I am vice versa.
I cook the bacons and eggs as she prepares the salad. As the song automatically shuffles to the next one, tahimik lang kaming parehas. Since katabi lang ng stove ang countertop kung saan niya ginagawa ‘yung salad, from my peripheral view, napansin kong napatigil siya sa ginagawa niya.
“Are you okay?” I ask, looking at her.
Medyo napayuko siya. “What’s the title of this song?” she asks.
Pinakinggan kong mabuti kasi kaka-intro pa lang ng instrumental.
