Another Rejection!!

My eyes widened in anticipation as we walked through the grand entrance of this five-star Ivy hotel. The walls were decorated with elaborate patterns and exquisite paintings that went above and beyond the standard elegance. The surrounding, lush green lawns made for a tranquil setting for a romantic evening, but I was not here for a romantic evening—it was not even night yet—but since I have been directed here, I must go with it. Waiters and waitresses in black and white suits glided around the room seamlessly in between tables with perfect timing as the lighting was dim and emphasized the romantic atmosphere created by the elaborate chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. "Is this restaurant meant for lovers? Everything in here screams romantic!" I asked him. Our hands were still locked on the elbows, and the waiters stared on. They greeted us with a little bow by bending their knees like they wanted to squat. "Yes! It's meant to give that feeling of being loved!" Bravyn laughed. As we sat down, I was greeted with the most delightful aroma a human being could ever dream of. The menu was presented to us in a beautiful leather-bound book with gold and engravings that exuded luxury. "We just ate like an hour ago!" I said, raising my brows but taking my menu book. "Why don't you serve us wine or champagne, probably coffee?" He told one of the waitresses, returning the menu. "That would be better, but what about snacks?" I asked. I needed something to distract me when I told him my decision. "Ask for everything that you want!" He eyed me. "Don't you want anything, Sir?" I asked. I stared at him; he had his gaze on me all this time. "A glass of champagne to celebrate the start of our long friendship!" Bravyn said. Glasses of chilled Champagne were served, and as the bubbles tickled our noses, we clinked the glasses together, sealing our friendship. "I need a cup of coffee and assorted snacks!" And stop staring at me like that, I commanded. I wondered what was going through his head because those stares were not pointless and suggested that something unpleasant was probably roiling there. I am captivated by your beauty and do not want you to leave! Why not stay?" Bravyn leaned forward and said," We have an ocean and a very clean beach if you want to relax. Why don't you want to see this place? "But Bravyn, look around you; there are so many women for you; why do you want to spoil my life for nothing?" I asked him, batting my eyelashes. "They say a heart dines on what it likes, and I like you!" He spoke softly with that croaky, feathery voice that vibrated in my brain, making me relax. "Okay, no problem. Since I need to be back by tomorrow, can we talk about why I am here?" I asked. "I called you here, Shelby Darling, because you make my days brighter and I am sick of being gloomy,"Bravyn was happy; you could see flames of love sparking in his eyes. I let out a small laugh. " I am here to brighten your dull moments?". Yes, I can't stop staring at you, or haven't you noticed?" Bravyn said. "So look at me tonight, then, and arrange how I am supposed to be on my way home!" I said. "What's that you want to go home for? I'm offering you a moment of relaxation, a change of environment!" Bravyn scratched his forehead with one finger. I am a single Mom,and I have a child at home who expects to see me every morning when she wakes up!" I explained it to him. "I can arrange for them to come here!" Bravyn said. "Come where and why?" "Here, and can you live together?". "Am I missing something here? Why would you want to do that?"I asked, sneering at him. "Because I want you!" His eyes met mine as he made a modest statement. "You want me?" "Yes, to the extent of me bringing my daughter to stay with me. Why are you jumping to conclusions? Why are you making decisions about my life? Is it because you have money and you think I am desperate?" I was boiling. I felt bad being intimidated like that. He was going too fast. "Yes, I have money. What's wrong with giving you a nice life? I want you, and I like you!" He repeated. Then, for your information, me and you can never be; it's not possible to get someone of your class; stop trying to force issues!" I barked. "I like dogs like you that bark and can never bite; I make the choices here and the decisions too; yours is to follow orders!" Bravyn said he was already hurting. He had thought they were getting along well; being slapped with rejection at this time of the afternoon was not one of his expectations. "Who told you I could not bite?" I hissed. He had changed color; he looked paler. This is probably not the kind of answer he was expecting from me. "Calm down, darling; I am not going to force you to love me if you don't feel like it. I'm sorry to think you felt the same way too, but do not worry about your daughter. I will organize for her safety!" Bravyn said, trying to reach out for my hands, which I drew to my chest and folded. "You cannot do that; let's get this over with, and I could be on my way!" I barked out "Why don't you want to spend some time with me?" Bravyn asked, giving me that sad look. "I don't need a relationship right now; I am just in a very abusive one, and I would not know how to treat a man at the moment!" I said without looking up to look at him. I am not going to force you to do anything, but please stay with me for a week. I promise, I won't even touch you. That will make me very happy!" Bravyn said. "And you will let me go and never bother me again, do you promise?" I asked. I knew he was lying, but why not try and see how that week goes? If he was going to send someone to check on Mellisa and her nanny, all I needed was a week to buy my freedom, and then he could let me be. "I promise!" He replied.I did not see any kind of sincerity in those eyes. Good, a week it is then!" I sighed softly, bit my lips, and smiled," Get me a room, please!" . "I've got a big house; you can pick any side of the house, and it's all yours!" Bravyn told her. "Something separate from your house will do good. I need to recharge myself and relax; is that true?" I asked. "Okay, let me plan for that. Again, welcome to your future home!" he said, stood up, and walked towards only him who knew where. **** =Bravyn= "My God, she has reduced me to a kitten. I can't stop staring at her like she has just been resurrected from hell!" I shouted when I got to the comfort of my office. "I can't be angry, nor can I shout. When I am with her,God almighty, I need to explode!" I touched my chest, and my heart was pounding fast. "I could not believe that even after words failed me and I tried showing her just a glimpse of my hotel, I welcomed her home, and she still had the audacity to reject me," I said. My body was vibrating with anger. I felt abused and intimidated. I tried to jump up and down in my office. Sitting was prohibited. If I attempted to sit, I would only damage the chair by banging it against the wall. I needed to know if I was still breathing. I had to let everything out that I had been working so hard to keep inside. "My God, who does Shelby think she is? I can get myself a more defined girl, a classy one!" I said, and my consciousness started screaming at me. "That's all exactly what she told you to do; are you sure it's what you want?". "No, no, I want her. She is mine; she can give orders and ultimatums, but I am going to promise her promises that I won't keep till she voluntarily loves me." I could not just get a grip on my shortcomings. She tried hard to make me understand how Play City was immoral. My job is far more unlikely. It's immoral, plus it involves illegal activities. What will happen if she comes to learn about it? I was lost and in pain. I needed someone to soothe me and pamper me, and that stubborn lady seated on my expensive upholstery drinking a very costly bottle of Champagne and still blinded by the good moments ahead of her could be the only one who could do that. Then someone knocked at his door!"Come in!" I shouted and continued pacing. "Jesus Christ, Bravyn, what's up with you", Gainty entered, and with one look at me, he was scared. "Can you imagine that beautiful woman that I chatted a jet to has told me in my face that we can never be?" I shouted at him. "Hahaha,is that why you look like you just lost your wealth?" Gainty asked; he was holding some papers that he dropped on the table. "That woman makes me calm; the fierceness in me vacates, and I am left with a peaceful mind. When I am around her, it's what I want to go home to after a day's hustle!" I muttered, and Gainty, of course, felt like she was a nobody. "I can't believe that girl there has blinded you like that. What about that lady? Was she a banker?" Gainty asked, coming to sit near where I stood. "Mention that banker again, and I will send you on a long leave. I want your support, but you are bringing up dead pasts!" I told him. That banker could not fit in Shelby's shoes, not with her degree in economics. She is mannerless and can do anything for money. I'm tired of having girls around me with only one interest. money. "I was just trying to give you an option. Have you seen yourself? You look like death—cold and ugly!" Gainty said and raked me top-down, "Is that the peace you are screaming at me about?" "I know how she makes me feel; damn, I don't know why I'm explaining myself to you!" I said I was unhappy that Gainty was not by my side. "Remember, your choices matter a lot to your parents, society, and your job!" Gainty advised me. "You mean I should get a person who is more rough, who doesn't care, who is a drunkard? Please elaborate!" I asked him, feeling like he was abusing my dignity. "I think I should remain your adviser in business only; relationships are meant for two people, and that pain written in your face doesn't promise great days to come!" Gainty continued with his prophetic words. "My God, why aren't you happy for me? Shelby is a nice girl!" I asked. "Look at yourself, lamenting like a small boy. Love is changing your reasoning. Stay awake. Don't lose your focus!" Gainty shouted at me.He was the only person who was supposed to tell me how he feels, no matter how it makes me feel or react. He was an expert in business, and his outgoing and honest nature made it easy for my illegal business to thrive. "You sound like my mother!" I yelled. I could feel a knot right in my throat. Perhaps I should get used to being trolled by Gainty and rejected by Shelby. In one week, you will love her. "Some issues need a loving touch!" He replied. "Get me an elderly nanny, a learned one, and send her to Timi in Utopia; he will know what to do after that!" I said, and I turned my face into a serious glare. One look at me, and he knew I was done with being questioned. "Nobody can see my pain; even Gainty judged her for being a waitress. God help me go after my heart without listening to these people, for without Shelby, I am nothing!" I went to the bathroom and splashed water on my face. I could not present that ugly face to her. She should not know how painful and hurtful her words are. I need the pain to win her heart. "Timi, do you know where Shelby resides?" I took out my phone and called the IvyS hotel manager. "I can talk to a few people; I already have the woman you were asking for," Timi answered plainly. I advised him to "take her personally to Shelby's house, make sure they have supplies that can last a month, and find a lady to take her place at the hotel." I liked Timi because he never asked pointless questions, he was intelligent, and he quickly understood. "No problem; I will do as you have asked, boss!'. "A lot of snacks for the little girl. She must not miss her mother." I issued instructions and disconnected the phone.
