“He obviously thinks a great deal of himself that he quit there before coming in here for his interview. Hell, he didn’t even know there’d be one until late Monday afternoon when I set it up.”
“Maybe he had more than one, though it’s doubtful. I’m sure Jones would have mentioned if anyone other than you had called to confirm he was employed there. From what he said, Ingles was certain he was going to be hired when he quit.”
“Yeah, that much I picked up on that within the first couple of minutes talking with him,” Brock said. “He needs a few lessons in humility.”
“And how to take defeat graciously.” Pat glanced casually at the deli’s window. “
