“I’m afraid so, for the moment. This afternoon you need to meet with a man at his place of business. He thinks one of his employees is embezzling money by destroying receipts for cash sales he makes. I’ll transfer the information to your computer.”
Pat saluted and left.
A few minutes later, Sandra let Brock know his appointment had arrived. He spent the next half hour going over the details of why the man thought he needed to hire Moran Investigations. In the end, the man filled out the requisite paperwork, paid the retainer, and left. At that point, Brock put together the information he needed for another job, which he had to do on site. Before he left, he stopped by the lab to see if Len had been able to learn anything from the envelope and note.
