Jaw clenched, I watched Nik gulp, his gaze firm and cold. "May be we should take the conversation upstairs, a little more private." Timidly, I nodded and followed him upstairs while wondering what he could possibly mean by that. He had a big house, sure, and I knew he had personal security, but was really a conversation involving him not even private in his own home? I wondered what life he was living that could possibly lead to that... Nonetheless, I let him lead us to the room I had previously 'escaped' from, shutting the door behind him.
