Temperance's POV
I gave up. I gave up hope. I gave up on Jeff. I gave up on my friends. I just wanted to slip into darkness and never wake up. So I stopped eating and drinking water. For a while, I got my final wish, and darkness became my whole existence. I saw nothing, felt nothing, and heard nothing. It was bliss as far as I was concerned. No mate to ruin my life. No family to tell me I didn't measure up. No friends to abandon me. It was me lying there in absolutely nothing, and it was heaven. But then she said I had to go back.
