"Let's get this crap over with," I said as I had flopped onto the couch. My mother and Gideon's mother just stared at me. I knew Gideon was still behind me when his mother glanced past me. She gave him a sympathetic smile, and then I heard him leave the room.
"Temperance, I want to apologize for what happened to you," Luna Melissa started speaking. "Gideon only did what his father told him to do. He thought it was the way to get you to submit, and he now knows it was wrong."
